With hundreds of birds in foster, or waiting for our help, we will work with you and your family to make the best match for everyone.  For more information about our foster and adoption program, or to find our application, go to phoenixlanding.org/adoption
PLEASE CONSIDER ADOPTION FIRST!
The Phoenix Landing Foundation is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization. It was established to promote and protect the welfare of parrots through adoption, education, and conservation. Almost every bird, from the smallest to the largest, from the most loved to the most neglected, will need a new home someday. Probably a succession of homes. People's lives change, often unexpectedly.  One day your bird may need a good new home too.

ADOPTABLE BIRDS

Here are just a few of our many birds looking for their new homes

BLANCA is a 23+ year old female goffins cockatoo. She has always been adorably fuzzy. Blanca likes to shred, forage and generally hang out where the action is, as most birds do. She also appreciates head scratches once she trusts and likes you.  Blanca is currently sharing time with other cockatoos in the North Carolina adoption center, and really  seems to enjoy their company.  Perhaps sharing a home with another cockatoo would be nice for her (and most cockatoos!).
10 year old SUNNY was left at a store when his person died several years ago, and was adopted through Phoenix Landing.  He's now ready for his next good home.  His foster family says he is beautiful and a joy. Sun conures can be  especially expressive!
CHEEKIE is a 4 year old blue crowned conure.  She loves to laugh with enthusiasm and has a bit of a vocabulary as well.    She enjoys the company of other conures too.
VIPER is also ready for his next Phoenix Landing family. He is very friendly and loves to sit with you. Head scratches and beak kisses are always welcome to Viper. Singing to himself in a mirror makes him very happy.  He eats pellets and pellet berries.
MOST BIRDS NEED BIRD FRIENDS TOO
Birds almost always appreciate the companionship of other birds.  They teach and learn from each other, they keep each other entertained. If you're hoping for a long-term relationship with a long-lived parrot companion, you probably can't provide all of the social life a parrot naturally seeks.  After all, most people relinquish their birds because they can't provide enough time and attention.  Does your bird have enough friends to weather the ups and downs of many years together?  What happens when a bird reaches sexual maturity? For more discussion about this topic go to: phoenixlanding.org/blog (Photo of adoptable birds Quork, a scarlet macaw, and Betsy, a military macaw).
