PLEASE CONSIDER ADOPTION FIRST!
The Phoenix Landing Foundation is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization. It was established to promote and protect the welfare of parrots through adoption, education, and conservation. Almost every bird, from the smallest to the largest, from the most loved to the most neglected, will need a new home someday. Probably a succession of homes. People's lives change, often unexpectedly.  One day your bird may need a good new home too.

ADOPTABLE BIRDS

Here are just a few of our many birds looking for their new homes

LYRA
A 7 year old female severe macaw, Lyra is very busy and curious. She loves destroying boxes to find the prizes inside and is a puzzle toy mastermind. She does great outside her cage on her atom and boing ... often hanging by one foot from the bottom.  Like many birds she thrives on a routine.  If she decides you are a favorite person, she will want to be as close to you as possible.  Reinforcing and maintaining her independence behaviors, like foraging, will be important for long-term success.
RAINBOW
Rainbow is a sun conure, age unknown.  In his wonderful foster home, he is learning to forage, especially with buckets and a foraging wheel. He prefers natural wood for his chewing needs.  Like most parrots, he is louder early in the day and at dusk; sun conures also have a specific pitch. Rainbow likes his baths in a large bowl.  He is also learning to target train using his favorite, almonds, as a reward. Rainbow loves Nutriberries, Roudybush pellets and bananas. This beautiful sun conure is ready for training if you'd like to earn his trust.
CHEEKIE
A 3 year old blue crowned conure, Cheekie
needed a new home when her family had a medical emergency.  She is sweet and gentle, and likes to be involved with the household activities.  She will gladly come out of our cage to see what's going on and also enjoys the company of other conures.
With hundreds of birds in foster, or waiting for our help, we will work with you and your family to make the best match for everyone.  For more information about our foster and adoption program, or to find our application, go to phoenixlanding.org/adoption
MEET 50 YEAR OLD JOSE
Jose recently joined Phoenix Landing after 50 years with the same family.  He is quite the character, as those mischievous blue and gold macaws can be.  He does have some special medical needs, from a twisted foot to pupils that never dilate.  While he is receiving optimal medical care now, some of these issues may not be curable.  However, we hope his next years under our protective umbrella will always be comfortable ones. Jose perfectly epitomizes the Phoenix Landing philosophy - almost all long-lived parrots, no matter how well loved, will almost certainly need more than one home.  And each home, no matter where the parrot came from, deserves to be a good one.  Adoption is mission essential for almost every parrot in captivity!
