BOOK DISCUSSION
The Book Discussion group will meet next Wednesday, June 22 at 12:00 noon. The group will be discussing "Letters from Nuremberg" by Christopher Dodd.
Anyone interested is welcome. Bring your lunch. Coffee and tea are provided.

INDEPENDENCE DAY
The synagogue and school will be closed Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. We wish our CMI family a happy and safe holiday weekend.

CMI BEGINS NEW FISCAL YEAR
CMI's new fiscal year starts on July 1. Membership packets will be sent out soon. If you would like to change your membership status for the 2016-2017 year or would like to discuss a payment plan, please contact Joel Elliot at jelliot@cmihamden.org or 203-288-3877.
Please help us keep our records up-to-date. If you have a new home or work address, phone number, and/or e-mail, please give that information to the office. Census forms were included in the membership renewal packet mailed in mid-June to assist with that process.

PRESCHOOL SUMMER CAMP NEWS 
Summer Camp and Fall registrations are now available. A $100 non-refundable registration fee is required of new families for Summer Camp and per family for Fall -- enroll online.
Summer Camp themes are: June 13-June 17: Getting To Know You Activities include making friendship bracelets and pins, silly face photos, buddy interviews, group art projects and much, much more! June 20- June 24: Things That Go Activities include learning about different forms of transportation, making our own moving vehicles, and a visit from a few special things that go! June 27-July 1: Movin' and Groovin' Activities include singing and dancing to our favorite songs, making up our own dances, and Kidding Around Yoga, with Ms. Sherri. July 5-July 8: Red, White and Blue Activities Include: Celebrating Independence Day with Banners, Flags, and Patriotic Games, "Spirit Day" Activities, a Parade and more! July 11-July 15: Come Camping With Me Activities include making tents, and camping, (with our flashlights), going on a hike, and of course, eating smores! July 18-July 22: Artful Antics Activities include different kinds of fun and creative art projects each day! Make sure you check out their work. July 25-July 29: Dino Days Activities Include learning about different kinds of dinosaurs, play acting as dinosaurs, and searching for dino bones. August 1-August 5: Splish Splash Activities Include: Slip-n-Slide, "Sprinkler Ball", Water Balloon Toss, Water Relays, Puddle Jumping, Super Soaker Day and many more! August 8-August 12: Have A Ball Dress up each day in your favorite sports outfit, t-shirt, jersey or cap. We will be talking about different sports and the importance of good sportsmanship. We will be playing different sports, and doing Happy Feet Soccer with Coach Don. August 15-August 19: Animal Planet Activities include learning about farm, jungle and rainforest animals. We will be reading books about animals, and making special animal art projects. We will have a special visit from Curious Creatures. August 22-August 25: Summer Send Off We will end the summer by going back to some of favorite things, such as water play, art, and ice cream. We will be saying goodbye to our friends, and preparing for the school year.

REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT

Refugees need jobs!JCARR is seeking ODD JOBS and longer term employment for our family from the Democratic Republic of Congo. They will help with yard work, cleaning, heavy lifting and moving, painting - whatever you need! Some training/supervision will be necessary to be sure they understand the work required. The job should be a minimum of two hours and the rate of pay is $ 12/hour. Work times are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Sundays. Transportation should be provided. To ask for help with an ODD JOB or to provide information about other jobs, please send an email to jcarremployment@gmail.com

STOP & SHOP CARDS
If you do your grocery shopping at Stop & Shop, come by the synagogue office and buy e-cards - you'll be supporting CMI. For every $100 sold, CMI get $5. Stop by weekdays 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

CCA NEEDS FOOD DONATIONS
Our Food Pantry needs the following items for the families and seniors that we serve. Please help us by donating non-perishable, canned food items such as the following:
Beans, Vegetables, Canned fruit (apple sauce, etc), Tomato sauce, Cereal, Peanut Butter, Sugar, Ground or instant coffee, Pasta/Spaghetti, Rice, Mac and Cheese.
Please bring goods to the collection bin in the rotunda.
CLOTHES COLLECTION
The Social Action Committee also collects clothes for Immanuel Baptist Church's "Clothes Closet," which provides items at no charge to those in need.Gently used spring & summer clothing for children and adults are
appreciated at this time of year. The clothing bin is located inside the CMI coatroom. For more information, contact Sarah at sbg4750@aol.com.

SECURITY INFORMATION
As a reminder, given the concern for security, the front doors will be open for very limited periods of time for activities (e.g., services, events, school). There will be people stationed at the doors when they are unlocked. Whenever you are coming to the synagogue for one of these types of activities, we strongly urge you to arrive on time. When the doors are locked, we will be able to buzz you in ONLY when the activity is taking place during business hours (Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.; Sunday 9:30 a.m.-12:00 noon).
