   Bosch (Titus Welliver) Amazon pilot
Michael Connelly's veteran LAPD detective is played by Titus Welliver in Amazon's Bosch now streaming for free at the Amazon.com website.

Did you know that Amazon is getting into the entertainment business? Much like Netflix did with House of Cards, the online retailer has decided to create its own original content and sell it through its existing website.

Today Amazon announced a slate of new pilots available for free viewing on Amazon Instant Video including one that I know will interest our readers -
Boschbased on Michael Connelly's iconic Harry Bosch novels.

The pilot episode is very promising and Titus Welliver (The Good Wife) turns out to be a natural as the hardheaded Los Angeles homicide detective. However, Amazon is using audience numbers and viewer ratings to determine whether to produce the entire series. So if you want more Bosch, watch, rate, and share with your friends!

J.A. Jance on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

When it came time for second grade at Greenway School in Bisbee, Arizona, there were two possible teachers - Mrs. Barker or Mrs. Spangler. I had seen the movie The Wizard of Oz, but it was in reading through Mrs. Spangler's collection of books that I first encountered the book itself - and not just that one, but L. Frank Baum's other books as well....

True Detective
HBO Sundays at 9 pm (est)

Martin Hart (Woody Harrelson) and Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) are partners in HBO's new series True Detective.

In some of the best crime fiction, the detectives work the case as the case works the detectives, forcing them to evaluate their sense of justice, their moral compass, and each other.

That approach is the cornerstore of True Detective, the engrossing new HBO series that debuted in January...
