Dec. 7, 2015

The big news this week was that Adobe finally released the upgrades to their audio and video products that they first showcased at IBC in September. Both Premiere and Audition got some new goodies. On this week's webinar, I'll showcase as many of the new features as we can fit into an hour. Here's the link.

Thinking of new webinars, starting this week, we are migrating all our new video training content to our Video Training Library. We are running one last store special specifically for the holidays, then all our efforts will focus on improving our membership service. Learn more here.

John Putch sent me some delightful photos which turned into a product review: "The Incredible Broom Cam." If you love, or hate, puns, you'll love this write-up!

After lots of work, we think we finally figured out how to get the NewTek Talkshow box to look its best - we discovered that it was incompatible with our current network firewall. We are doing more tests this week, but, if this proves to be the cause, you'll see a major improvement in Skype image quality this week on The Buzz. As soon as I know for sure, I'll write up what we've learned.

I had the pleasure of emceeing two holiday choir concerts over the weekend. Listening to the music of the season made me realize that the holidays are all about hope. The hope that the cold dark days of winter will turn into the rebirth of spring. The hope that the perilous times we all find ourselves in will become less dangerous. The hope that the new year will be better than the last.

Hope is a marvelous thing. Especially now, during these holidays. Enjoy your week. I look forward to chatting next Monday.

Protect Your Stuff - Archive

One of my recent webinars deserves your attention - whether you view it in our Training Library, or download it from our store:

"Protect Your Stuff - Archiving."

If you are like most of us - including me - archiving is the last thing we think of  after a job is complete and billed. Most of the time, I'm on to the next project.

What this webinar does is explain the difference between backups and archives, explains why hard disks are not good for archiving and shows how to use two different archiving software tools to keep your stuff safe.

Solid job tips, cool sound design and a simple way to fix a typo. This week, Mike and I spoke with Patrick Southern, Christina Horgan and Charles Dautremont.
