Our webinar last week took a first look at the new Adobe Audition CC, scheduled to ship a bit later this month.
Specifically, I wanted to show how to repair problem audio using some of the new features in this up-coming release. You can see it all by downloading the webinar.
But, I know you are impatient for the good stuff, so I've got three highlight videos as part of this newsletter issue. And, as we get closer to the full CC release, I'll have more on Adobe's latest software.
CINEGEAR IS AWESOME!
I spent Saturday wandering around
CineGear, an outdoor industry trade show on the Paramount Studios lot, surrounded by the absolute high-end of production gear. From drone camera platforms to trucks carrying four 10,000 watt lights on a huge crane, it was all here.
I'm still marveling at how our industry has changed with the advent of robotics, smaller gear, and some amazing ingenuity. I remember when it took a bread truck and a crew of ten to set up a simple, single-camera live shot. I'll write more about this soon, for now, though, I'm still awe-struck... and recovering.
DIGITAL PRODUCTION BUZZ
FEATURED AUDIO INTERVIEW
Each week, I feature a different interview from our podcast:
Digital Production Buzz. This week, I want to call an interview with
Bobbie O'Steen to your attention.
Bobbie is an author and film editing historian who has interviewed just about every significant editor over the last 20 years. All too often, we ignore our history at our peril. Editing has a long and fascinating history.
I found her interview fascinating and encourage you to listen to it.

interview here.

entire show here.
COLOR GRADING A SCENE WEBINAR
One of the most popular training that I offer covers color correction. So, this week, I take this one step farther and show how to color correct a scene using Final Cut Pro X.
This is partly technical, partly how I analyze images, and part, "well, gosh, that just looks better, doesn't it."
Subscribers can attend any of our webinars for free. We will send you an email on Tuesday, when the office reopens, with registration instructions.
"EDITING TRUTHS" WEEKLY WINNERS
Here are the latest winners in our "Editing Truths For Better Living" contest. These short aphorisms touch upon so many facets of editing for others.
