Wow!

It's been a wild couple of weeks! The NAB Show is generally a time of industry upheaval, but this year was even more so. New releases from Adobe, Apple, Autodesk, and Avid, not to mention Thunderbolt showing up everywhere and Blackmagic Designs' new Cinema Camera.... It was a great show.I'm sorry this newsletter was gone for a couple of weeks, but NAB took all of my time. To make up for it, I have tons of new goodies in this issue:
* New products
* New webinars
* New blogs
* New articles
Whew!

NEW PRODUCTS
All 91 movies in our Final Cut Pro X - Workflow and Editing training series are now closed captioned! (Thanks to a four month effort from Mandy David and her team at JFD Communications.) To the best of my knowledge, this is the largest collection of closed captioned technical training on a single software package ever independently produced. If English is your second language, or your hearing is less than perfect, these expertly-tailored closed captions make this an ideal way to learn a new subject. We are doing this as a market test. If the response is good, we will extend closed captioning to our other titles.

WEBINARS
Our Weekly Webinars are back! I've created six new weekly webinars covering both Final Cut Pro X and Adobe's newest software. Remember, if you are a subscriber you can attend any live weekly webinar for free. And if you aren't, join us for one of our live events and see what you have been missing. Starting a week from this Wednesday - May 9 - discover the "New Features in Final Cut Pro X." Apple continues to rapidly update this software, join us and see what's new. May 16 learn how Adobe Story and the brand new Prelude CS6 can make a big difference in your production planning. Click here to join me. Then, see how to flow the results of Story and Prelude directly into Premiere Pro CS6 to truly simplify and speed your editing. Get the details here for our May 23 event. Want to make the most of color correcting your projects in FCP X? Join us for this May 30 webinar and make your images look better immediately. Here's the details. The more I work with Adobe Audition CS6, the more I like it. Let me show you how to use it to repair your audio in this June 6 event. However, FCP X is no slouch in the audio department. See how Roles can organize your projects, then use new audio editing tools and audio filters to make your audio sound great. Click here to sign up. (By the way, if you aren't yet a subscriber, this is a great time to join! Click here to become a member.) - - -

APPLE UPDATES FINAL CUT PRO X And Previews Future Versions
Apple updated FCP X to version 10.0.4. I wrote a blog about this when Apple first released it. Now, I've added an article that shows you how the new features work. Read the article here. Probably the most tweeted - and repeated - blog I've written this year was about an on-the-record meeting with Apple the Sunday before the NAB Show started. Here's the blog I wrote then that covered our meeting - including future features in FCP X.
