HELP!

I'm looking for multicam music video footage to use in upcoming books and training.

If you have some to share, email me!
Greetings!

Wow! We've been busy. FOUR new articles, FIVE new webinars, and a BIG announcement this week!

I have articles on retouching video, creating an image montage, getting started with Adobe Story (which is VERY cool!), and creating a back-time edit. You can find all the details below.

We have five new webinars to announce this week - all looking at different aspects of Final Cut Pro X. Check out the sidebar on the left for all the details.

Thinking of webinars, last week's topic covered Adobe Story. This is a FREE web application which can help you script, collaborate, organize, and schedule your productions. Check out my demo on my store page for the webinar -- this is cool stuff and from now till April 12 Story is free!

Our podcast - Digital Production Buzz - is heading to SXSW later this month. Visit this special SXSW show page to hear all our interviews.

Then, in April, the Buzz is back at the NAB 2012 Show for our fifth year of wall-to-wall coverage and special shows.  More on that in April!

I'm doing a free webinar for Filmmaking Webinars on Thursday this week covering the new features in FCP X. Click here to learn more.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: All our FCP X training is now available as part of our subscription membership. Our Premium Subscription now has OVER 300 TRAINING VIDEOS, more than 90 hours of training, with more titles added every week.  Become a Premium Subscriber and get access to everything!

By the way, to see all the titles we have available, click here, then, on the left side, click the categories under BROWSE to see specific titles.

Now, let's take a look at what's new this week.

ADOBE STORY: VIDEO TECHNIQUE
Getting Started with Adobe Story
Adobe Systems logo
Adobe Story is a scripting, collaboration, and planning tool to get you ready for production.

This video tutorial shows you how to get started using Story. The good news is that the web version of Story - story.adobe.com - is free until April 12.  Watch the tutorial and you'll see why this is such good news for producers.

FCP X: TUTORIAL
EDITING A VISUAL MONTAGE TO MUSIC

For people new to FCP X, this is an introductory tutorial that shows you how to edit an image montage to music.

This article covers adding your music to the Timeline, creating markers, editing and trimming your video, and adding transitions.

PHOTOSHOP: VIDEO TUTORIAL
RETOUCH YOUR VIDEO USING PHOTOSHOP
Adobe Systems logo Photoshop is legendary for image retouching. However, what you may not know is that the Extended version of Photoshop also retouches video!

This brief video tutorial shows you how to open a video clip in Photoshop, remove problems using cloning, and how to export your video ready to import into any version of Final Cut Pro.

Click here to watch the tutorial.

FCP X: TUTORIAL
CREATING A BACK-TIME EDIT

Back-time edits are the life-blood of sports. A back-time edit edits based on the Out, not the In; perfect for when you care more about where the runner crosses the goal than where they started running.

This article was requested by a reader who was editing a sports highlights reel. FCP X makes this easy - but it is NOT intuitive. Read this article to learn how.
