Greetings!

Larry Jordan
Larry, himself.
Welcome to 2012!

May this year be much, much better than last year; for all of us.

Several new things in this issue: three new articles and a revised webinar for this week.

This week's webinar looks at using music in our video projects. Technically, adding music is easy. aesthetically, though, wow! There are a lot of options. I created a scene which we will score in a variety of ways. We'll discover that when we play music has as much impact as what music we play.  I first got this idea from Norman Hollyn and was so impressed with this that I want to share it with you.

We use dialog to tell our audience what to think, we use music to tell our audience what to feel. Learn how this works in this week's webinar.

Here's a list of all our January webinars. I hope to see you there.

FCP 7 TECHNIQUE
Putting Video Inside a Shape

Putting video inside a shape is a very powerful effect.

This tutorial shows you how to create this in FCP 7 or 6.

FCP X TECHNIQUE
Animating Timeline Effects

Virtually every effect in Final Cut Pro X can be keyframed.

We can create keyframes in the Inspector, but many times, it is faster to create them in the Timeline.

This tutorial shows you how. Click here to read the entire article.

FINAL CUT PRO and ADOBE PREMIERE PRO
Displaying Action Safe and Title Safe

For years we've known that not all TVs display the entire picture. In fact, most crop the image quite severely.

This article explains the problem and how to use Action Safe and Title Safe to keep you and your projects out of trouble.

Whether you own Premiere or any version of Final Cut, click here to read this tutorial.
