8th Grade Legacy Walk

This morning we celebrated our soon-to-be TCS graduates with the 8th Grade Legacy Walk. Our 8th grade students walked through the halls of TCS in their high school t-shirts; the last time they will walk our hallways as TCS students! Our TK - 7th grade students cheered as they walked by. It is sure to be a memory they will treasure. Enjoy photos of the 8th Grade Legacy Walk on The Christ School's Facebook page.
Graduation

All TCS families are invited to join us for The Christ School Graduation Ceremony tomorrow, Thursday, May 25, at 2:00 pm in the FPCO Sanctuary. Graduation is a special time at The Christ School. All TCS students will attend the graduation ceremony. This is a dress uniform day for students in 1st - 7th grades. The ceremony will conclude in time for carpool at 3:15 pm. A reception honoring our graduates and their parents will be held immediately following the ceremony in Lee Fellowship Hall.
School's Out - Early Dismissal This Friday

This Friday, May 26, is the last day of school for the 2016-17 school year! Carpool for lower school students will run from 12:20 to 12:35 pm. Carpool for middle school students will run from 12:35 to 12:50 pm. The Christ School offices will close at 1:00 pm on Friday.

Summer Learning

We are pleased to announce that once again The Christ School will offer our students rising into grades 1-8 the opportunity to avoid the summer "brain drain" by participating in the 2017 Summer Learning Program. Parents of lower school students, please look for the Summer Learning Book and suggested summer reading list in backpacks today. Parents of middle school students, please look for the required summer reading packets that will be sent home Friday. Directions on how to complete summer learning in all grades will also be sent home. If you have any questions, please contact TCS Curriculum Specialist, Amanda Gordon.
Tuition Payments

Tuition payments for the 2017-18 school year are due soon. For those who elected to pay tuition by paper check with either the one or two payment plans, please deliver your check to The Christ School office no later than next Thursday, June 1. All monthly tuition payment plans for 2017-18 will begin on June 5. For questions, contact  Bill Herlong.
#TCSKindness

Earlier this spring, we encouraged our students to be others-oriented by doing kind acts throughout the summer. When your TCS lion does a kind act, we invite you to take a photo or write something about their kind deed and post on social media. Be sure to tag it with #TCSKindness. We can't wait to see the many ways our TCS Lions show kindness this summer!  Click here for details.
International Fare

Third grade students have been researching and exploring the history, geography, and culture of countries across the globe. They culminated their studies with an International "Fare" on May 22. At the Fare, they shared their knowledge of the individual countries they studied with parents and younger students as they displayed their project boards, donned fashions and costumes, and served fare from the countries they researched.
Elephant Toothpaste

Mrs. Nabors' 2nd grade students enjoy science so much that they incorporated a science experiment into their end-of-the-year party. The experiment, called "Elephant Toothpaste," allowed the students to explore chemical and physical changes that occur when certain solutions are mixed together. First, the students dissolved active dry yeast into warm water. Then, they mixed food coloring and 6% hydrogen peroxide into empty water bottles. The final step was to add the mixtures together. The reaction created overflowing foam that looks like a giant tube of toothpaste being squeezed out. Mrs. Nabors' said, "It was fun to do this experiment and watch the reactions happen; not just the scientific reactions but the priceless reactions of the students!"
Alumni News

Kudos to Dominick Orlando III, TCS class of 2013, for being a 2017 valedictorian of Boone High School!  Dominick plans to go to UCF next year to study Business Management.
