8th Grade Farewell Chapel
One of the precious traditions we have at The Christ School is the 8th Grade Farewell Chapel. Tomorrow morning's middle school chapel, Thursday, May 18, at 8:15 am in the Reformation Chapel, will be dedicated to our soon-to-be alumni. During this chapel, a slideshow will be presented highlighting unique aspects of the students. To further personalize the sendoff, our middle school teachers will offer heartfelt individual blessings. The chapel concludes with the entire class being circled in prayer. All parents of 8th grade students are invited to this special worship and celebration.

8th Grade Legacy Walk
We are excited to celebrate our soon-to-be TCS graduates at the 8th Grade Legacy Walk on Wednesday, May 24, from 11:20 to 11:50 am. Our 8th grade students will walk through the halls of TCS in their high school t-shirts as the rest of our students cheer for them! TCS kindergarten student Whitney Gaston demonstrated that she is indeed LION Strong! After learning in chapel that other children didn't have many of the things she has, Whitney decided that she needed to make a difference. Whitney and her mom, Meri, organized a book drive to benefit children at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. They reached out to many of their friends in the community, including The Christ School Lower School Service Club, to help. Through their efforts, Whitney was able to donate over 1300 children's books to the organization. Whitney is proof that even the littlest lion can make a big impact! Way to ROAR, Whitney!

The Lions Den Update
Our Used Uniform Closet and Spirit Store (the Lions Den) is now accepting uniform donations! Please bring in any uniforms that no longer fit your child(ren) and we will add them to our store. We are happy to accept discontinued items as well, so it's time to clean out the drawers and get ready for summertime clothes! Items may be dropped off at the first floor reception desk. Watch for an email this summer with a Lions Den sale date so that you can get your lion set up for the 2017-18 school year. Thank you for all of your support this year! Please note: the Lions Den will be closed on Monday, May 22.

#TCSKindness
Our lions are already taking our kindness initiative to heart! We are enjoying the photos of kind acts by our students on social media tagged with #TCSKindness. We ask that our lions continue this initiative throughout the summer as we remember to think of others and do kind things. Whether it is to help a friend or neighbor, pick up trash on the beach, or volunteer to help someone in need, we know our LION Strong TCS students will find many ways to show kindness to others! Remember, when your TCS lion does a kind act, we invite you to take a photo or write something about their kind deed and post on social media. Be sure to tag it with #TCSKindness. Click here for details.

8th grade Language Arts students performed Shakespearean monologues from the play A Midsummer Night's Dream. Their teacher, Mrs. Tracy Sheldon said, "It was so cool to see our TCS "soon-to-be graduates" evoke so much passion as they presented to their peers. Who knew some of these students had so much pizzazz? The costumes were adorable and the performances even more stunning! What a great way to end the year!"
