Farewell Chapel Honoring Jason Powell

The Christ School community is invited to attend a special farewell chapel for our Head of School, Dr. Jason Powell, on Friday, May 19. The chapel will be held from 8:15 to 8:45 am in the FPCO Sanctuary. Come and hear reflections on his time at TCS, and help us wish Dr. Powell and his family well on their new adventure in Tennessee!
Middle School Dance and Social

This Friday, May 12, all middle school students are invited to The Christ School Middle School Dance and Social. Sponsored by the Middle School Student Council, this event celebrates friendships at TCS. The "dance" is for those who like dancing, and the "social" is for those who prefer to snack and chat with friends! The event takes place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Lee Fellowship Hall. Dress is casual and the theme of the event is sports, so you can wear your favorite jersey or team shirt. Casual day dress guidelines apply. Contact Nicole Kleinsteuber, Student Council Advisor, with questions.
"Cashual" Day Monday and Special Uniform Dress Days

Monday, May 15, has been declared a "Cashual" day by TCS 4th grade student Jennifer Vais, who served as Head of School for the day earlier this week. Students may dress in casual clothing on Monday for a minimum of $1 donation. The proceeds from cashual day will benefit Equine Angels. Students must adhere to the casual dress guidelines.

On Monday, May 22, students may wear their regular daily uniform instead of their dress uniform. Please have your student wear their dress uniform on Thursday, May 25, in honor of The Christ School graduation.
Lower School Awards

Our Lower School End-of-Year Awards ceremony (2nd - 5th grades) will be held on Wednesday, May 17, at 8:15 am in the Sanctuary, in place of morning chapel. TK - 1st grade students will hold Chapel devotions in their classrooms. Parents of students receiving awards will be notified by Monday, May 15.
Attention All TCS Families, Alumni & Founders

The Christ School community is invited to worship at the 11:00 am Sunday service of First Presbyterian Church Orlando (FPCO) on May 21 as the FPCO congregation recognizes and prays for our transitioning Head of School, Dr. Jason Powell. TCS families are asked to sit together in the front left quadrant of the sanctuary (garden side) to show our support. Please plan to arrive in the sanctuary by 10:45 am
#TCSKindness

TCS has an initiative for our students - to take kindness everywhere this summer! Whether it is to help a friend or neighbor, help a lost pet find its home, pick up trash on the beach, or volunteer to help someone in need, we know our LION Strong TCS students can find many ways to show kindness to others! This summer, when your TCS lion does a kind act, we invite you to take a photo or write something about their kind deed and post on social media. Be sure to tag it with #TCSKindness. Click here for details.
Lions' Day

Our Parent Teacher Fellowship has a fun-filled day planned for our students on Friday, May 19! Our Lions' Day end-of-year celebration will feature outdoor games, gym relays, yearbook signing, and class parties. Students should follow regular Friday dress guidelines. Please remember to pack a lunch. Pizza Hut and Emma Bean are available for purchase. A fun treat will be provided! Please sign up to volunteer or contact event chairs, Heidi Arias or Kris Richarde, for more information.
Famous Floridians

Our 4th grade students have been studying Florida history. To conclude their history unit, they learned about famous Floridians in history. Each student dressed as a famous Floridian and presented a research project to their classmates and guests at a "Living Museum" on May 4. While in character, they told parents and students many facts about their famous Floridian. This lesson incorporated research, writing, public speaking and creativity.
Exploring the World

Third grade students are researching and exploring the history, geography, and culture of countries across the globe. This past Friday, the students expanded their learning on a field trip to Epcot, where they explored the countries featured in the World Showcase. At Epcot, they had the opportunity to learn some exclusive information about the countries featured there by interviewing some of the employees sponsored by Walt Disney World's International Program. Parents are invited to see the findings of their research at the International Fare on Thursday, May 18.
Student Leaders

TCS 5th grade carpool patrols are helping our 4th grade students transition into their new roles as carpool patrols for next year. This week, the 5th grade students have been explaining expectations and showing them the carpool process. Our 4th grade students will take over as patrols for the last two weeks of school. Thank you to our 5th grade students for your leadership this year as patrols. Our students are LION Strong!
