Father Daughter Dance

We are looking forward to The Christ School's Father Daughter Dance this Saturday, April 29, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Marks Street Complex. Dads, relatives and family friends are welcome to escort our young ladies. Tickets are $35 per family, billed to your FACTS account. If you would like to attend, please complete this reservation form. Volunteers are still needed to provide refreshments and to help at the event.
Staff Appreciation Week

The Christ School teachers and staff have been blessed by our wonderful families who have been showering them with love during Staff Appreciation Week. This Friday, April 28, the Staff Appreciation Committee asks parents to help them host the annual Soup & Salad Luncheon for teachers and staff by making and sending in your favorite crock pot soup or salad. Please sign up to bring in food, drinks, or to help with the luncheon. Contact Courtney Quarles or Alissa Mahoney with questions.
Your Opinion Matters!

The Christ School Annual Parent Survey was emailed to all TCS parents on April 17. Your opinions and comments are very important and we want to hear from each family. The school leadership team will use the survey results as they plan the next school year and future years. Surveys must be completed by Friday, April 28.
2017-18 Parent Teacher Fellowship

The PTF Executive Council is already at work on the 2017-18 PTF Council roster and we need YOU! If you are interested in volunteering next year as an event chair, a room parent, a Helping Paw, or in some other capacity, please email PTF President, Tami Vais, or our incoming PTF President, Amy Daly. We look forward to serving with you! For the latest PTF updates, please see the minutes from the April PTF Council meeting.
Tuition Payments

Parents, as we approach the month of May, please remember that tuition payments for the 2017-18 school year are on the horizon. Single payments in full are due by June 1. All other tuition payment plan terms for 2017-18 will begin on June 5. In the early part of May, you will receive an email from FACTS with an amount of tuition owed for 2017-18. If you would like to make a change to your payment plan or have any questions please contact Bill Herlong or Margaret Peebles. Be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming June payment deadlines.
Middle School Trips

On May 2 - 5, TCS 7th grade students will travel to Asheville, NC, to serve families in need and to strengthen relationships between each other and their teachers. This experience is a wonderful precursor to their trip to the Dominican Republic next year.  On May 3 - 5, TCS 6th grade students will travel to Pathfinders in Lithia, FL for a team-building excursion. These trips are an important part of our curriculum, helping to establish a foundation for being others-oriented.
Fins-on Learning

On Monday, sixth grade Earth Science students enjoyed their annual trip to Rainbow Springs for a snorkeling excursion. The students experienced the refreshing chill of 72 degree spring water surging up from the Florida aquifer that they had learned about in class. They saw many turtles and fish, and few students even swam side-by-side with a submerged anhinga bird! The students were able to marvel at the natural beauty of God's freshwater springs.
TCS Librarian Featured in Community Performance

Ms. Hayes Schardt, TCS Librarian and Media Specialist, enjoys community theater as a hobby, and is currently in a new play at the Orlando Shakespeare Center titled [Miss]: An Uncompromising Woman. [Miss] explores the true story behind an infamous drug case that rocked the world in the early 1960s. Ms. Schardt plays Betty Yoder, a pharmaceutical rep who works for the Merrell Company. The play continues next weekend. Tickets are still available.  Please Note: this play contains adult situations and materials; it is not suitable for children.
Lions' Sports Update
Mark your calendars for our Lower School Sports Bash on Tuesday, May 9, at 5:00 pm in the gym. This event is open to all TCS lower school athletes, coaches and their families. Come celebrate our year of sports with fun, games, prizes and our Boosterthon friends. Following the Bash, head over to Chick-fil-A on Orange Avenue for TCS Spirit Night. When you order, let Chick-fil-A know that you are with TCS. Your purchase helps raise funds for TCS sports. See details here.

The Christ School prayer team is happy to lift our families up in prayer.  If you would like to have them pray for you or someone in your family, please submit your prayer request.
