Coffee with Jason Powell and Aaron Farrant

All parents are invited for Coffee with the Head of School on Tuesday, April 4, at 8:15 am in the 2nd floor rotunda room of the Clayton Life Center. For this special coffee event, our new Head of School, Aaron Farrant, will be joining us! Please RSVP to Theresa Opsahl.
CTP Testing

Next week we will begin our CTP (Comprehensive Testing Program) Standardized Testing for students in grades 1-8. Parents are encouraged to have their children in bed early and be sure they have a healthy breakfast. Testing will be each morning for varying grades beginning on Tuesday, April 4 and will conclude on Thursday, April 13. Watch for information on class-specific testing days from your child(ren)'s homeroom teacher.
Lower School Service Club

Our Lower School Service Club will meet on Wednesday, April 5, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm in the Shine room, located on the 3rd floor of the Clayton Life Center. This month, we will be making Easter cards and collecting new and gently used books for children who are served by the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. Books should be new or in good condition, and for children in Pre-K through 5th grade. Please contact Development Specialist, Angela V. Harrison, with questions.
Morning Carpool

The Christ School morning carpool begins at 7:50 am and ends at 8:10 am. We encourage parents to try and come earlier rather than later during that time. We have experienced very light carpool traffic for the first 5-10 minutes of carpool and many cars coming all at once in the last 10 minutes of carpool. The campus closes to vehicular traffic at 8:10 am every morning, as it is very important for us to start our school day on time. Thank you!

7th and 8th Grade Science Fair

Kudos to all of our students for the thoughtful projects presented at the 7th and 8th grade Science Fair. Congratulations to Best in Show winner, Ella Ristorcelli (grade 7), who raised nine chickens - three from each of three species - to determine if the activity and growth rate varied in the different species raised in the same environment. First place winner in 8th grade was Alejandra Gonzalez-Acosta, who did an experiment to determine which metal salt compound catalyst splits water the most efficiently to help hydropower fuel. First place winner in 7th grade was Ethan Uranick, whose experiment determined if age and gender affect how the primary visual cortex of the brain reacts to a certain object during a visual search. Our students performed with distinction!
Celebrating St. Patrick

Miss Savage's first grade students celebrated St. Patrick's Day by exploring the story of St. Patrick. They learned that St. Patrick spread Christianity in Ireland by relating the Holy Trinity to a shamrock. He knew that this would help people remember that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit were all one. The students were each given three shamrocks and wrote one thing that God had blessed them with on each. The students loved to celebrate by wearing their shamrocks as headbands.
Lions' Sports Update
Let's give a big Lions' ROAR to our soccer teams as they play in games on Saturday, April 1, at Trotter's Field, and to our Track and Field athletes as they participate in their championship meet on Tuesday, April 4, at 4:30 pm at Lake Highland Prep.

The Christ School prayer team is happy to lift our families up in prayer.  If you would like to have them pray for you or someone in your family, please submit your prayer request.
