7th and 8th grade Language Arts students completed written and creative projects that illustrated important elements of their AR novels. They had many options in which to represent their story elements including displaying a significant event through a model or diorama, recreating the ending of a novel, comparing or contrasting their novel to a film, or sketching significant scenes to illustrate conflict and climax. Their Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Sheldon, says, "These projects highlight the creative abilities and amazing writing talents of our TCS students. I am so proud of their hard work!"

Last week, first grade students celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday. They learned about Dr. Seuss and the many ways he made his books fun to read. The students also took part in Read Across America, a national program that invites children to celebrate reading. The students brought a special "snuggle buddy" to read to and had the option to scan a QR code and listen to a Dr. Seuss book with a friend. Thank you, Dr. Seuss, for making reading so much fun!

Middle school entomology elective students are studying pollination. To help this lesson come to life, they participated in a hands-on activity in which they "pollinated" flowers to simulate how bees transfer pollen between plants. For their lesson, the "pollen" was cheeto crumbs, and students spread it from flower to flower around the "garden."
