TCS Celebration and Early Dismissal

The Christ School is excited to present our second annual, school-wide, Christmas Pancake Breakfast! On Friday, December 16, The Christ School Administration Team will cook and serve pancakes for our students and teachers.  It is sure to be a fun and tasty Christmas celebration.  Please remember, December 16 is an early dismissal day. Carpool for lower school will begin at 12:20 pm. Carpool for middle school will begin at 12:35 pm.  REACH will not be available on December 16.
PTF Council Meeting Tomorrow

All parents are welcome to attend the upcoming Parent Teacher Fellowship meeting tomorrow, Thursday, December 8, at 8:15 am in Room 217. Parents will have the opportunity to hear from school leaders as well as the volunteer chairs of our upcoming events. Please contact PTF President, Tami Vais, for more details.
Spread the Light

Our Middle School Student Council members are spreading the love and grace that is Jesus this holiday season through a project they are calling "Spread the Light." The project began on Monday as Mrs. Kleinsteuber spoke to our students in chapel about how service to others is like spreading light. Student Council members gave paper light bulbs to each classroom.  When students or teachers notice someone doing something nice to "spread the light," they can then write or draw what they noticed on a light. As they grow, the strings of lights will be displayed in classrooms and hallways.

Our Parents Say the Kindest Things!
Thank you to TCS kindergarten mom Yasmar Figueroa for her review of TCS on our Facebok page. Yasmar writes: "Best decision we have made! After preparing for a year looking at schools for our daughter, The Christ School was the best one by far based on our needs and what we wanted to provide for our daughter. The level of communication is outstanding and the way they keep my daughter challenged is amazing. I love how everybody makes her feel so welcome and how they complement the values that we teach her at home. Thank you to every staff member at The Christ School!"
Thank you so much for your wonderful support and sharing the news of TCS!
8th Grade Students Explore Physics

Last Friday, TCS 8th grade students enjoyed a field trip to Busch Gardens.  Twice a year Busch Gardens Tampa Bay opens one hour early exclusively for students to participate in Physics Day. Our students enjoyed interactive physics stations located around the park, in addition to a live physics interactive show. Accelerometers were even mounted on select rides for student use to display the amount of g-forces felt on the roller coasters. It was a fun way to experience physics!
TCS News

Our students recently enjoyed another episode of TCS News, and we are excited to share it with you! Under the leadership of TCS Technology Specialist Rich Magee, TCS News students write and produce the stories, serve as anchors, film the segments, and edit the final broadcast of each episode. You can find the latest episode on RenWeb under Resource Documents. It is located under the heading of Newsletter Archive, and is titled TCS News - Episode 5 - Fall 2016. Enjoy! For the safety of our students, please do not share the video on social media.
Young Leaders

Our 1st grade students had an opportunity to practice their leadership skills as they partnered with our transitional kindergarten students to create a Christmas gingerbread craft.  The older students were paired with the younger students, and were given instructions on how to make a fun Christmas ornament. It was heartwarming to see the students help each other complete their projects.

Christmas Eve Volunteers Needed at FPCO

First Presbyterian Church of Orlando (FPCO) is seeking both adult and middle school volunteers to support Christmas Eve worship by serving as a greeter, usher, or by distributing candles. This is a great way for students to earn volunteer hours. The time commitment for most roles is 30 minutes prior to worship and 15 minutes afterward.  If you are interested in participating, please sign up and select the worship service(s) at which you are available to assist. For questions, please contact Lori Needham.
Lions' Sports Update
Our Cubs cheerleaders are marching in the Baldwin Park Winter Spark parade this Saturday at 6:00 pm. Come and cheer them on!  Registration is open for lower school basketball, golf, soccer shots, and winter tennis.  Registration information, in addition to our schedule of lower and middle school games and practices this week, can be found on  Lions' Sports News

The Christ School prayer team is happy to lift our families up in prayer.  If you would like to have them pray for you or someone in your family, please submit your prayer request.
