TCS Christmas Program Tomorrow!

We are excited to kick off the Christmas season with The Christ School's annual Christmas Program tomorrowThursday, December 1, at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. Everyone is invited to the program followed by a milk and cookie reception under the Angel Wing. All students are to report to their homeroom no later than 6:30 pm. Students may wear casual, festive attire. We ask that students do not wear athletic apparel or shorts, and avoid large head wear (like reindeer ears or big hats) that may obscure the view of a friend. Families who have signed up to bring cookies and milk are asked to drop these items off in carpool Thursday morning or afternoon. Thank you for volunteering and Merry Christmas! For questions, please contact Susan Clauss.
Pizza Hut Lunch on Fridays
We are now offering Pizza Hut as our Friday lunch option for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year. For $5.00, students will receive a personal pan cheese pizza and a dessert. To participate, please send $5.00 with your student on Fridays. Exact change or a check for $5.00, payable to TCS, is accepted. Orders must be placed before 9:00 am.

Great Christmas Gift Ideas from Compass
Are you looking for fun, yet educational gifts for your young scholar?  Meredith Gibbs, The Christ School's Compass teacher, shares her list of Christmas gift ideas that foster critical thinking based on games she uses in class that her students love...

Animal Habitat Museums

Third grade students recently completed a research project on animals. Each student chose an animal from an assigned habitat. The students used their classroom iPads to research and write a report about their animal. They also created a model of their animal out of recycled materials, and displayed them at their Animal Habitat Museum on November 17. Here, they presented facts about their animal to parents and students. Each class also created a Google Slideshow presentation to display at the museum. This engaging project encompassed technology, research, public speaking and hands-on learning.
Young Scientists

Sixth grade geologists collected rocks and minerals as they learned about the rock cycle, the three types of rocks (igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic) and the characteristics and uses of minerals. Students brainstormed creative ways to present their collections, and then created displays for all students and parents to explore.
