Getting Involved in the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF)
Our school thrives thanks to the support of our families. The Christ School PTF is just one way you can partner with the school and support our teachers, staff and students. Every family is a member of our PTF and all parents are welcome to attend PTF Council Meetings. Please prayerfully consider how you will serve with us this year and get plugged in! Contact PTF President, Tami Vais, with any questions.
Car Placards
The Christ School requires that all vehicles must display a placard on the front dashboard in order to gain access to our campus. This includes student name placards (white for Lower School, yellow for Middle School) for both morning and afternoon carpool. This also applies to REACH (pink placard) and any sports practice pickup (blue placard). The Christ School will issue additional placards for spouses, grandparents, etc. who may need them. Please notify Susan Clauss of the type and quantity you need, and they will be produced and sent home with your child.
Middle School Retreat
This past Thursday and Friday, TCS Middle School students and teachers traveled to Southwind Young Life Camp to participate in the annual Middle School Retreat. With a clear focus on what it means to be Lion Strong, students engaged in team building activities, spirited worship, learned about integrity and obedience from guest speaker Clifton Stanton, youth pastor of the Church of Eleven 22, and enjoyed plenty of free time to bond with each other and their teachers. It was a wonderful opportunity to begin the year Lion Strong!
Hands-On Science
Second grade scientists are learning the steps to the scientific method. For their first science experiment of the year, they explored the question: "What dissolves in water?" They learned the definition of "dissolve," listed their materials, and formed a hypotheses about which items they predicted would dissolve in water. In pairs, they mixed salt, sugar, flour, sand, baking soda, and pepper to see what would dissolve. Afterward, they recorded results and shared their conclusions. Hands-on learning is exciting and fun!

 Robotics
Sixth - eighth grade STEM Robotics students are currently learning basic programming skills through an iOS app called Macrolab. This app allows the students to create a series of commands that their Sphero robot will execute when prompted. This week the class begins their first project by writing a program to maneuver their Sphero through an obstacle course.
Lions' Sports Update
There is still time to register for fall and winter sports at The Christ School. Click here for Lions' Sports News, and learn about the many sports opportunities at TCS. Our middle school volleyball and cross country Lions are already in competition. We wish them well as they ROAR through their season!
The Christ School prayer team is happy to lift our families up in prayer.  If you would like to have them pray for you or someone in your family, please submit your prayer request.
