WELCOME BACK LIONS!
The Christ School faculty and staff are excited to welcome our students back on campus for the 2016-17 school year. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 10. If you would like to join us for Chapel on the first day of school, please note that Chapel will begin at approximately 9:00 am to allow students and teachers time to get settled in the classrooms. We hope to see you there!
Please note:
Wednesday, August 10 is a dress uniform day.

TK, K and 1st Grade Parent Orientation
Tomorrow, August 4, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, parents of students entering transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, and 1st grade are invited to a Parent Orientation. Amber Lail, Director of Academics and Student Programs, and your child(ren)'s teachers will host this informative session to talk about the upcoming year and answer your questions. The program will be held as follows:
- Parents of transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students: The program begins at 5:00 pm in the Warehouse, located on the 3rd floor of The Christ School
- Parents of 1st grade students: The program begins at 5:00 pm in the Reformation Chapel

Popsicles in the Park
All new families are invited to the Helping Paw Popsicles in the Park event sponsored by our Parent Teacher Fellowship. Even if your Helping Paw family cannot attend, please plan to stop by and visit with other TCS families and enjoy a cold treat. The event will be held on Sunday, August 7, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Delaney Park, 1055 Delaney Avenue, Orlando. Contact PTF President, Tami Vais, for more information.

Meet Your Teacher and Middle School Orientation
Our teachers are excited to meet their students! Please join us on Monday, August 8. The schedule is as follows:
4:00 - 5:00 pm: Middle School Orientation - All middle school parents and students meet in the Reformation Chapel
5:30 - 7:00 pm: Drop in to Meet Your Teacher (all grades)
5:30 - 7:00 pm: Lions Sports Connect in the first floor main lobby
5:30 - 7:00 pm: Lions' Den open for used uniform and spirit wear purchases

Kleenex and Coffee Hosted by PTF
The Christ School Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) invites all transitional kindergarten and kindergarten parents to a special time of fellowship on the first day of school. Our annual Kleenex and Coffee event will be held in King Parlor at 8:15 am on Wednesday, August 10. We encourage you to join us for school-wide Chapel following the program.

Important Carpool information
With our new school year starting next week, we would like to remind you of our morning and afternoon carpool procedures. Safety is our top priority, and timeliness is also important. Please be sure to follow these important carpool procedures to ensure our students' safety as they arrive for and leave school.

Lunches
We are happy to continue our relationship with Emmabean, who offers lunches to TCS students on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week. Students can order from their full menu on all three days. The menu includes empanadas, Kung Fu Noodles, Harvest Box (vegan, gluten free) and more! Families can place their orders through the Emmabean website. Lunches are $7 each for a child's portion, and $8 each for an adult portion. Special pricing is available to multiple lunch orders! Orders must be placed by 8:00 am the day that the meal is to be served. Lunch delivery from Emmabean begins on Wednesday, August 10. Parents can place orders beginning on August 8. As soon as The Christ School confirms our lunch vendors for Mondays and Fridays, we will let you know.

Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF)
The Christ School offers a variety of ways for you to partner with our Parent Teacher Fellowship to support the school. Please watch for an email this week from PTF President, Tami Vais, with more information about how you can get involved.

Welcome Aline Gressel, Afternoon Receptionist
The Christ School welcomes Aline Gressel to The Christ School as our afternoon receptionist. Aline has two sons; her son Alan came to TCS last year and will be in 7th grade this year. Aline says, "I've come to love TCS so much over the past year that I wanted to be a part of the team. I am very excited to be here and to get to meet all of the wonderful parents and children at The Christ School!" As Aline begins her role at TCS, we ask that you please be prepared to show your ID to her when picking up your child(ren), until she becomes familiar with our families.

Dry-fit uniform shirts available from Lands' End
The Christ School has added a new dry-fit option to our uniform selections. We are now offering navy blue, hunter green and white poly (dry-fit) polos for both boys and girls. These shirts can be purchased through Lands' End. The Christ School's Lands' End school number and logo codes can be found here. For uniform questions, please contact Amber Lail.

Vote for The Christ School!
It's time once again to show your TCS spirit and vote for The Christ School in Playground Magazine's 2016 Family Favorite Awards! We are proud to have won awards two years in a row and are excited for this year's results! You can vote for TCS in the category of Family Favorite Private Religious Elementary School, and you can vote by write in for Best Summer Camp - The Christ School's Summer in the City! We encourage you to show your TCS spirit and vote for The Christ School! Hurry, voting ends Friday, August 19.

Lions' Sports Update
Be sure to stop by the Lions Sports Connect table on Monday, August 8, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm (during Meet Your Teacher) in The Christ School lobby. Coach Vais and Coach Wiborg will be there to answer your TCS sports questions, and will have sports information sheets, registration forms and FHSAA forms available for you.
