Middle School Sports Recognition Chapel
Parents are invited to join us for a special Sports Recognition Chapel tomorrow, May 12, at 8:10 a.m. in the Reformation Chapel.  We are excited to honor our middle school athletes who have participated in sports at TCS this year.

Your Opinion Matters!
Be sure to complete your Parent Survey, which was sent to all TCS parents on May 2 via e-mail. Your opinions and comments are very important and we want to hear from each family. The school leadership team will use the survey results as they plan the next school year and future years. Surveys must be completed by Monday, May 16.

Tuition Payments
Tuition payments for the 2016-17 school year are due soon. Payments in full are due on June 1. For those who elected to pay tuition in two equal parts, the first payment is due on June 1. All monthly tuition payment plans for 2016-17 will begin on June 5. This month, you will receive an email from FACTS with an amount of tuition owed for 2016-17. If you do not have a FACTS account, please contact Bill Herlong. Be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming June payment deadlines.

Lions' Day is Friday, May 20
On May 20, our students and staff will spend the day celebrating all of God's blessings over The Christ School this year. This is our annual school-wide end of year celebration day AND class celebration day. There will be outdoor games, a spirit station, yearbook signing, a dunk tank, and more! Look over the schedule for the day and find a time to join us! Students should wear their 20th celebration shirts, uniform bottoms, and sneakers. Contact event chair, Amy Daly, with questions.

Volunteer Help is Needed!
Volunteer support is essential to the success of this special day for our students. There are a variety of opportunities throughout the day where you can serve - dropping off items in carpool, setting up, cleaning up, or serving lunch. Please help us celebrate an amazing 20th year at TCS!

Nature-Inspired Poems
Third grade students took their classroom outdoors and learned about haiku poems. The students used God's beautiful creation as inspiration to write Japanese-style poems that highlighted all the fascinating things nature has to offer.

Dissecting Computers
Our fourth grade classes have spent time in the computer lab over the past two weeks learning about the key parts inside of a computer including the hard drive, memory, motherboard, and CPU. After learning about those parts, the students dissected some old computers that were retired from our classrooms long ago. As they used screwdrivers and their hands to remove the parts, they got a chance to see and touch each component to gain insight into what is going on inside a computer.

Leadership417
It's not a secret that the 8th grade girls are currently participating in the Leadership417 wheel course, but you may not know that they have recently completed the business book The Secret: What Great Leaders Know and Do by Ken Blanchard and Mark Miller. The girls did an excellent job leading the book discussions. Activities with a purpose are also a key part of the course.  The activities have...

Resources for Parents
The Christ School team understands the importance of being a resource for our community.  Here are two articles that you may find interesting. The first article was featured in a recent issue of FPCO's Columns Magazine, and highlights TCS 5th grade teacher Kathy Whitman in a discussion of ways to encourage spiritually in your child. The next article discusses ways to help your child constructively handle anger.  We hope that you find the information in these articles useful!

Summer in the City
Summer is almost here and that means fun and friendship at Summer in the City!  The first week of our camp, Summer Celebration, held June 6 - 10, is sold out. Visit our website for details and to register for the remaining three weeks. Registration for Summer in the City closes on Friday, May 27. Be sure to register so your child can take part in the summertime fun!
