Your Opinion Matters!
Be sure to complete your Parent Survey, which was sent to all TCS parents this past Monday via e-mail. Your opinions and comments are very important and we want to hear from each family. The school leadership team will use the survey results as they plan the next school year and future years. Surveys must be completed by Monday, May 16.

Standardized Test Results
The Christ School has completed our transition from the SAT to the Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP).  The CTP score reports for 1st - 8th grade students will come home via backpack express on Monday, May 9. Included with the report is a parent guide to help you interpret the results. The CTP is one of the ways we measure student achievement throughout the school year and we look forward to sharing this information with you.

Congressional Award Winner
Congratulations to TCS 8th grade student Sierra Tagman, who has earned a Bronze Congressional Medal. The award will be presented to Sierra by Congressman Daniel Webster on Monday, May 9 at 8:15 a.m. during our morning chapel. The Congressional Award is the United States Congress' award for...

Share Your TCS Spirit as a Helping Paw
A beloved program at TCS is our Helping Paw program. This is a rewarding opportunity for you to share The Christ School experience with a new family. As a Helping Paw, you will walk with your new family through their first year at TCS, and be their "go-to" for questions. A few more Helping Paws are needed for families joining us in the 2016-17 school year. If you would like to help, please contact Joanne Fleming, TCS Director of Admission.

Lower School Sports Bash
Get ready for the Lower School Sports Bash, which will be held on Tuesday, May 10, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the gym. This event is open to all lower school athletes who participated in TCS sports this year, along with their families and coaches. Join us for awards and fun as we celebrate our athletes!  After the Sports Bash, head over to Chick-fil-A on Orange Avenue for TCS Spirit Night. Click here for details.

Middle School Sports Recognition Chapel
Parents are invited to join us for a special Sports Recognition Chapel on Thursday, May 12, at 8:10 a.m. in the Reformation Chapel.  We will honor our middle school athletes who have participated in sports at TCS this year.

Used Uniforms Needed
Do you have a stack of gently-used uniforms that your children have outgrown?  We encourage you to drop them off at TCS this week so we can restock our used uniform store. On Wednesday, May 11, we are welcoming our new families to The Christ School at our New Parent Breakfast, which includes a shopping experience in the Lions' Den.  We hope to have a large selection of uniforms to help our new families be ready for the 2016-17 school year. Your uniform donations are appreciated!

Celebrate God's Gifts
The children in TK celebrated National Blueberry Pie Day with a trip to Beck's Blueberry Farm in Windermere. Mrs. Beck greeted the students and explained that there were different varieties of blueberries and demonstrated the correct way to harvest blueberries. Each student collected a pint of blueberries, although they ate twice as many as they collected! Once their blueberries were collected, they enjoyed a picnic lunch followed by games and a wheelbarrow race.

Growing Up!
You may have noticed our 8th grade students acting strangely - being very kind to small bags of flour!  They have been deemed the proud parents of "flour babies," and are learning just a little about the responsibility of parenting. Our middle school teachers have joined in the flour baby fun by giving the students...

Lessons in Leadership
Our Yearbook staff held a recognition ceremony on May 2, in which Ansley Dalton and Gabi Fatigati, outgoing Co-Editors-in-Chief of the 2016 yearbook, tapped three rising middle school staffers to lead the creation of next year's book. 7th grade students Ellie Bostedo and Sydney Wall were selected to serve as the Co-Editors-in-Chief of the 2017 edition of ...

Kagan Structures
TCS 7th and 8th grade Social Studies students participated in Kagan Structures to enhance their learning and classroom experiences. Kagan Structures are research-based strategies that engage ALL students in the learning process. Imbedded within the structures are social skills, team-building, and movement. The students participated in...

Talented TCS Lions
Kudos to TCS students Ashlyn MacNichol, Macy Cramer, and Hadley Dalton for sharing their talents as they performed in the Orlando REP's production of The Sound of Music this past weekend. Ashlyn performed in the lead role of Maria von Trapp. Macy performed as house staff and baby goat in the lonely goatherd, and Hadley performed as a nun and party goer. Many TCS families were in attendance to support our young actors. Bravo Lions!

Summer in the City
Summer is almost here and that means fun and friendship at Summer in the City! The first week of our camp, Summer Celebration, held June 6 - 10, is sold out. Visit our website for details and to register for the remaining three weeks. We are in need of volunteers to assist with our program. If you know of any high school or college students who might be interested, contact Linsy Joyner, Summer in the City Coordinator.

Lions'SportsLogo Lions' Sports Update
The last Spirit Day of the school year is next week! Join us on Friday May 13, at 2:15 p.m. in the gym. We will celebrate our students who have earned an award for the Presidents Physical Fitness Challenge. Our cheer squads and Roary are ready to Roar!
