Technology Enhances Lessons
First grade students have been studying the weather. Mrs. Schwalk's class is working in groups to create a Google Slides presentation to share their research of different "extreme" weather systems such as hurricanes, blizzards, and tornadoes, with the rest of the class. Using Google Slides allows the students to use higher level thinking skills including analysis, evaluation and creation.

Hands-on Learning
Students in 2nd grade explored 2 and 3 dimensional shapes using toothpicks and marshmallows. As they built a variety of geometric shapes, the students were able to identify vertices, angles, and flat surfaces.

Students in Mrs. Sheldon's 8th grade Language Arts class are exploring how to deliver an effective presentation. This week, they have been summarizing events from a Holocaust website and contributing noteworthy events to a historical timeline in the classroom. These events will be used as talking points in presentations they will deliver about Holocaust narratives they read during their Literature Circles.

Resources for Parents
The Christ School team understands the importance of being a resource for our community. Here are two resources that may be of interest. We hope that you find the information in these articles useful.
