The Gift of Education at Eye Level!

When Jenny Chan moved to Richmond, B.C. in 2011 she was coming from a high level Educator position in Hong Kong where she traveled the world to keep the Education Bureau up to date with the latest trends in teaching and learning. She had also operated a 5 unit franchise specializing in teaching English literacy skills to 4-10 year olds.

Currently pursuing her PhD in Education and working with the UBC Faculty of Education, Jenny determined that there is a need for a different approach to teaching Math/English from the traditional methods. Consequently, in July 2015, Jenny opened the 1^st Eye Level Learning Centre in British Columbia at 110-8291 Ackroyd Rd. in Richmond (there are 230 units in North America with 4 in Ontario).

Jenny worked with Signarama Richmond to ensure that her brand was well presented in her exterior and interior signage package. Collaborating with Sign Specialist, Nayeli Garcia, they planned how best to use the existing exterior sign band to present the name and logo and then carry the look and feel inside to the different work rooms, making sure the brand was reinforced to the client throughout. From updating the outdoor pylon sign to interior vinyl graphics in each room, Eye Level was completely outfitted with a branding package. Eye Level is a leading provider of supplemental education in the areas of Math and English, where children ages 3-16 are taught using a self-directed, personalized approach. This is in contrast to some of the other "self-learning" systems. Eye Level Richmond North is the only learning center that offers a Critical Thinking Math program. An Eye Level education starts with seeing things from the student's "eye level", and with teachers filling the role of coach rather than instructor. Eye Level aligns very well with the BC's Education Plan on 'Personalized Learning'. That is, for students to succeed they need critical thinking skills and self-directed learning skills in designing their own education path. At Eye Level, the students are also rewarded for positive behavior, attitude, study habits and mind skills and the results are "EYE OPENING".
