THE ANGEL FUND for ALS Research

Dear Angel Fund Family,

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your support of The Angel Fund throughout the past year. It has been an extraordinary year for ALS awareness thanks to you, The Angel Fund family, and to the Ice Bucket Challenge that swept the world through social media during the summer. This challenge, started by Pete Frates and Pat Quinn, singlehandedly brought much needed awareness to ALS and the critical need for research funding to find a treatment and cure.

There continues to be extraordinary breakthroughs in ALS research and we are getting closer to finding a treatment and cure. Dr. Robert H. Brown, Jr. and the researchers at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester continue their groundbreaking research and we are proud - and excited - to be a key player in their efforts to find a cure using gene therapy to silence ALS genes.

The Angel Fund has launched a major fundraising campaign to raise $4 million for ALS research. This campaign, Step Up to Cure ALS, will fund an innovative approach to turning off mutant genes that cause ALS. Our goal is to bring it to human trials as quickly as possible

With your help, we can make that happen. In fact, we are almost halfway to meeting our $4 million goal!!!

We are grateful that you are fighting alongside us in the battle against ALS, and that we are all working together to find a cure for this horrific disease. Yet the battle - and our mission to find a cure - continue. We are grateful for every dollar that is donated, and we are proud to say that our total research funding averages approximately 92% of total expenditures incurred.

On behalf of The Angel Fund board of directors, thank you for choosing The Angel Fund and I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season.

With thanks and gratitude,

Richard Kennedy

President
