There are arguments to be made for both sides of the Island Airport expansion debate - but City Hall has given the go ahead to produce a report to examine the potential effects. Woman loses $100,000 deposit as lawyer doesn't see fax    

     

In an age of instant communication with emails, text messages and cell phones, when it comes to real estate contracts, the notion of what is 'timely' takes on a new meaning.

 

In an unusual case, a judge decided that a woman's $100,000 deposit on a $1.5 million Toronto home was forfeit because her lawyer didn't see a fax on her machine that could have saved the deal from falling through.

This is what 1000 retired Toronto street signs look like

  

 

Toronto's substantial stockpile of decommissioned street signs could be up for grabs in just a few weeks if a new report gets the green light. The public works and infrastructure committee will consider a recommendation next week that calls on the city to allow the sale of disused road markers for $30, depending on the size, on a first-come-first-served basis.

Porter Airlines one step closer to flying out of Toronto city airport

    

 

 

Porter Airlines cleared the first obstacle in its quest to fly jets in and out of the island airport after city council voted on Tuesday to study its proposal.

Council imposed a series of limitations on the review in an attempt to protect parkland, the shipping channel and current noise regulations.

April was a busy much for retail - Queen West's Mini Mioche opened a second location in the Distillery District, a new personal accessories/ grooming store opened in Parkdale (with some locally made items) and Marshall's has officially opened at Yonge and Gerrard.

TORONTO, May 3, 2013 -- Greater Toronto Area REALTORS® reported 9,811 sales through the TorontoMLS system in April 2013, representing a dip of two per cent in comparison to 10,021 transactions in April 2012.  Both new listings during the month and active listings at the end of April were up on a year-over-year basis.
