Reward for Information
On August 1, 2015 at 6:10AM, an intruder or intruders gained unauthorized access to our theater and light booth. In addition, a fire alarm was activated and city fire crews were sent to the theater. While no serious damage occurred, the incident made it necessary for QCMG to hire a locksmith to re-key all of our exterior theater doors. Due to this incident, it also became apparent new and more advanced security measures were needed for our facility.

Quad-City Music Guild is offering a reward of $500 for information that will lead to identification of the person(s) involved and a resolution to this matter. If you have information, please contact QCMG President, Kevin Pieper at 309-738-8131 or QCMG Vice President, Cathy Marsoun at 309-738-5003. If preferred, you may mail information to: QCMG at P.O. Box 307, Moline, IL 61266-0307, Attn: President.

Any information provided and the source will be kept in strict confidence.

Meet the Nominees...
At our annual meeting on Tuesday, October 27th at 6:30 pm, we will be electing four members to our Board of Directors. Voting information will be mailed to those who filled out the Voting Member Registration and/or participated in the Member Patron Program. The following individuals have been nominated for your consideration. Good luck to all!

Anthony Greer found his passion for theater while attending United Township. While in high school, he performed in a record number of 15 productions, which inspired him Music Guild productions and has been dance captain for Oklahoma! and Mary Poppins. Most recently, he was seen in the role of Munkustrap in Andrew Lloyd Weber's Cats. Anthony is a recent graduate of Illinois State University and is currently teaching English and Speech at United Township where he is also the speech coach and musical director. If elected to the board, he hopes to collaborate with other board members to maintain the success of Music Guild and it's traditions, as well as bring new and innovative ideas to help the organization grow.

Rob Keech moved to the Quad Cities in 2012 to practice dentistry at AAA Court Dentistry in Bettendorf with a satellite office in Galesburg, IL, at Galesburg Family Dentistry. His wife Catherine teaches French in the Pleasant Valley School District.  He is a member of the Iowa Dental Association, the Scott County Dental Society, the Davenport District Dental Society and volunteers for the Iowa Mission of Mercy and Give Kids a Smile. Since high school, Rob has devoted most of his free time, both on and off stage, to theatre. With City Circle Acting Company of Coralville and Iowa City Community Theatre, he has enjoyed ushering, constructing sets, working on multiple publicity committees and performing in Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, The Music Man, Camelot, The Drowsy Chaperone, Guys and Dolls, Spamalot and Into the Woods. Rob has also worked on a variety of productions while at University of Iowa and with Riverside Theatre's Young People's Company. Here at QCMG, he feels he has found a second family. He performed last summer as Enjolras in Les Miserables and in Mary Poppins in August as George Banks. Rob would very much appreciate the opportunity and privilege to serve this fantastic organization as a member of the Board of Directors.

Sara Laufer has been involved with Music Guild since her chorus debut in Guys and Dolls in 2010. She has remained active both on and behind the stage ever since doing everything from acting, light and sound design, choreography, to concessions and bus greeting. She loves every minute spent in the theatre having started performing in California at the young age of 7. In her daily life Sara works as a scheduler at the Genesis Imaging Center and on weekends at the Davenport Fairfield Inn by Marriott

Tom Morrow has been a regular, backstage and onstage since his first show in 1976, "Jesus Christ Superstar". He did take 11 years away from the Quad-Cities to move to Los Angeles for 8 years and Green Bay for three. Otherwise every summer Tom has been a particpant in some way. He has been the chair person for marketing and publicity for the last 4 years and was Asst. Director/Stage Manager for "Cats" this summer. He has been book director on 3 shows at Guild, assistant director for 5 shows and volunteered in the box office, concessions, ushering. Tom was Producer for "A Christmas Survival Guide" and has served on the board the last three years. He has also been onstage many times at Guild.  Tom has worked at other Quad-City, Green Bay and Los Angeles theaters in many different capacities.
Tom has been employed by Midland Information resources for the last 19 plus years and currently is a Parts Catalog publisher for the Deere and Company account. He lives in Rock Island with his faithful dog Boo, and claims to have the World's best Mom and Sister, who also live in Rock Island. Hobbies include theater, theater and...more theater.

Deb Swift Since 1999, Deb has served on the music staff for 20 shows, most recently as Music Director for Mary Poppins. She has also played in the pit orchestra for five shows, is a past member of the QCMG Board, has volunteered in concessions and the box office, provides pre-show lobby entertainment, and accompanies performers for Guild promotional appearances. Deb has served as President, Secretary, Treasurer and Board member for the QC chapter of National Association of Women in Construction, and serves as Secretary for the American Guild of Organists local chapter. She is employed as an Engineering Assistant at KJWW Engineering and is organist/accompanist and bell choir director at Bettendorf Presbyterian Church. "Being a past Board member and a board member for other area non-profit groups, I understand the commitment that comes with the position. I look forward to continuing to make Guild a successful, local option for quality entertainment."

Kelly Thompson has served on the board of Quad City Music Guild for one year as the Group Ticket Sales Chair. She first became involved with Music Guild in 2007, appearing onstage in seven productions so far. She's also worked backstage with costumes, stage crew, and props, and volunteers with concessions, cleanup days, and other activities. Kelly has worked in nonprofit organizations for more than ten years, including eight years in leadership positions, giving her extensive experience in nonprofit management. Currently, Kelly is Director of Programs at the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend, overseeing the foundation's grants, scholarships, and its youth philanthropy program, Teens for Tomorrow. Kelly also serves on the board of the Scott County Housing Council. Although she didn't grow up here, Music Guild is a large part of why Kelly considers the Quad Cities home, and she's grateful for the opportunity to give back to the organization that's given her so much.
