Ever wonder how your gift to United Way is helping local teens graduate from high school? Here's what your donations made possible:
  • After school clubs and homework support programs through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County, Whatcom Family YMCA, WWU/Woodring College and Bellingham Public Schools
  • Support and training for at-risk and parenting teens through the GRADS program and the Homeport Learning Center
  • Ensuring housing and healthy foods for teens and families through Northwest Youth Services, Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County, and The Bellingham Food Bank

One gift to United Way makes all of this and so much more possible for local teens and families! Thank you and congratulations to all the local Grads!

WELCOME PATRICIA FAREWELL TO KRISTI
Patricia (left) ceremoniously receives the LIVE UNITED t-shirt from Kristi

It is with excitement that we welcome Patricia (Patty) Boyce as our new Coordinator of Development and Community Impact. At the same time we say goodbye to Kristi Birkeland who has served as our Community Engagement Manager for the past 3 years.

As we transition and readjust these positions our long-time Director of Development, Tamara Tregoning, will be our lead staff for the United Way Campaign from this point on. Kristi will be missed but Tamara and Patty are excited to continue working with our amazing companies and supporters.

As part of our commitment to strengthen our community United Way is proud to once again be the fiscal sponsors of Bellingham/Whatcom Project Homeless Connect. It's a 1-day, 1-stop event focused on mobilizing community volunteers and local service providers in order to:
  • Invite and welcome people who are homeless
  • Reduce barriers to service
  • Provide immediate and service outcomes
  • Create sustainable and long term service partnerships
  • Track and publicize results that connect to the Plan to End Homelessness
