Dr.Menaka Thakkar presents Narthaki Nataraj!

NARTHAKI NATARAJ from Chennai, India is one of the most remarkable Bharatanatyam dancers to have emerged on the Indian dance scene in recent times. Trained in the Tanjavur style of Bharatanatyam by notable Guru Kittappa Pillai, the last surviving descendent of the legendary "Tanjore Quartet" of the 18th century, Narthaki Nataraj is considered a most important performer and interpreter of the Tanjore repertoire. She has performed in India, USA, UK and Europe and has been widely honoured with including the prestigious Puraskar Award from the President of India and a Senior Fellowship from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, India.
