Welcome to another edition of MyBindi's newsletter!

These past few weeks I was in Turkey where I got a chance to experience an extraordinary combination of history, culture, nature, hospitality and cuisine.

I also brought back some amazing (delicious!!) Turkish baklava and Turkish Delights which I would love to share with some lucky MyBindi fans.

So if you're a fan of MyBindi and would like to receive this gift, here's what you need to do to be entered into our draw (we'll give away two keepsake boxes in total):

1.  Like our Facebook page;
2.  Check out my Turkish Delight photo albums HERE and HERE
3.  Share your favourite picture from one of my albums above to our facebook page or your own profile page and tell us what you like about that photo.
4.  Complete this form here and be sure to mention you're entering the draw for the Turkish Baklava and Delights.

That's all :)  We will announce two winners next Thursday who can come to our office and claim/collect their baklava and delights!

Who knows, this might become a new tradition!  I am currently in the departure lounge at Pearson Airport waiting to board my flight to NYC.  I might bring back more goodies to give away and share with the MyBindi community.

My only regret is that I will miss TAJ  - the epic love story featuring Lisa Ray and Kabir Bedi being performed on October 19 at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga.  Hope it's on your calendar though.  There's just a handful of tickets still available.

But, I am glad to be back in time for the AGM Monster Mixer next Wednesday (October 23) which is a unique networking and speed dating event hosted by BindiDates.  See details HERE.  Hope to see you there :)

Health Benefits of Indian Masala Chai

Masala chai is a flavored tea beverage made by brewing black tea with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs.

The ancient medicinal ingredient in chai is 'sattvic', which acts as a revitalizing agent that helps to sooth the mind & soul. There are also several other ingredients in this classic tea that not only add warmth but also serve as remedies to cure indigestion and breathing & blood circulation issues.

Salimah My Body My Temple

I answered the phone one morning last December. The voice on the other side said, "Can you help me please angel? I'm dying and I know nothing at all about filling out paperwork for that."

There was something about his voice that was loving and sincere and calm. He had the voice of a teacher, a friend, someone you would miss when they were gone. Over the next 9 months John and I had a number of phone calls. After each conversation, I would sit for moment and reflect.

Interview :: Lata Pada & Lisa Ray on the dance-drama TAJ
Lata Lisa TAJ Interview

Sampradaya Dance Creations presents John Murrell's TAJ on October 19th at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga.

The dance-drama is presented by Founder, Director, and Principal Teacher of SAMPRADAYA Dance Academy, Lata Pada and also stars Bollywood actor Kabir Bedi alongside Canadian actress Lisa Ray. The play follows Jahan Ara (Lisa Ray), the daughter of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (Kabir Bedi) and brings to life the historic story behind the Taj Mahal.

MyBindi's Habiba Ahmad caught up with Lata Pada & Lisa Ray to discuss what it was like working on this epic story in TAJ.

Lata Pada - In a past statement, you have referred to TAJ as your 'dream project'. What is it about this production that is such an aspiration for you?

TAJ has been a project that I have been dreaming of and visioning since 2009. Around that time, I was reading several books on Mughal history at that time and I was fascinated by Indu Sundaresan's book - The Shadow Princess. Jahanara, the indomitable daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan is the protagonist in this book. She lives her life amidst royal splendor and court intrigue in the historical backdrop of the love story of her parents which led to the creation of this architectural masterpiece.
