Motherhood full of contradiction: Nandita DasTerming motherhood as a "contradiction" of life, actor-director Nandita Das said the happy stereotypical perception about motherhood is very different in reality. Das was speaking at a book launch of an anthology "Of Mother and Other" at the Indian International Centre here. "When I was pregnant, no one told me how many difficulties one actually has to face. Everybody is happy and they congratulate you, but nobody shares the issues of motherhood," the actor said. Click HERE to read more.
Part 1 Take a deep breath. Close your eyes. Concentrate this next breath through your left nostril. Use your mind to control your breath. Repeat eleven times. In the thirty seconds it takes to practice this technique, your body, mind and breath shifts. It is a fact.
Part 2 See, sense, feel or imagine the place in your life, in your body, in your mind where you hold the most tension. Hold that knowingness. Come to an awareness of where you are gripping, holding, or judging. Be with it.
Part 3 Offer that experience over to your highest consciousness. Turn it over to be forgiven, loved and healed. It is a choice rather than a request. It is a here and now experience of consciousness. It's you.
Food Cravings ... Its not your fault!
Hello readers! This week's blog is short and sweet - I wanted to share with you an article I recently read that really affected me. I mean, I know the food industry spends millions on the science behind flavour and making us want more of the processed goodies they manufacture...but to the extent it is actually happening - I had no idea. Please read this article - it will really make you think about processed foods and why we love them so. Its not our fault. Its their business to make us addicts.

Special Chabbis' Soundtrack Special Treat For MusicNeeraj Pandey returns to direction after four years and his latest film "Special Chabbis" looks as invigorating as his first film "A Wednesday". The soundtrack too seems good with five original tracks. Four songs have been penned by Irshad Kamil and composed by M.M. Kreem, while Himesh Reshammiya has chipped in with a composition with lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed. First up is "Tujh sang lagee". A soulful rendition by KK, the song has a qawwali touch and Sufi energy flowing incessantly. The sound of the Sarangi and other Indian instruments also play a vital role by keeping you in sync with the song.
Deepika Padukone, who already has over 2.8 million followers on Twitter, is now reaching out to her fans through an official Facebook page.
After two successful films - "Cocktail" and "Race 2", Deepika is extremely excited about her recently launched Facebook page.
"I have never been on Facebook before. Now with this launch, I am really excited to be on this interactive platform and be able to connect with my fans," Deepika said in a statement.

Getting Candid with Prashant Bhargava
|
|
Prashant Bhargava's critically acclaimed film PATANG (The Kite) sheds light into India's largest kite festival in the old city of Ahmedabad. PATANG tells the tale of a family that duels, spins and soars like the countless kites in skies above. Born and raised on the southside of Chicago, Prashant Bhargava 's interest in the arts began as a graffiti artist. Since then, he has evolved into an award winning filmmaker and commercial director/designer. With his signature "hypnotically beautiful visuals", "naturalistic performances" and a "colorfully vivid" poetic style, Bhargava stands at the leading edge as a director with "original storytelling and honest craft". Bhargava took on Patang as a first time director. Through his journey, Bhargava discovered what it really means to be human. Jatinder Bhan speaks candidly with Prashant Bhargava in an exclusive interview on his stance on Patang, filmmaking and finding peace beyond societal differences What drove you to Film Making? It's a calling. I began my career with a degree in computer science. I always enjoyed art especially from my younger days as a graffiti artist in Chicago. After a successful commercial career of making intensely layered and ornate ads for many clients from HBO to Accenture, filmmaking was a natural progression. I like to tell stories, empower my audiences to hold on to their happiness. I feel most alive when I'm creating. I love how film making demands one to wear many hats. It's a tough question - because it is just what I do, what I dream about. It just happened and I'm excited to make more! Click HERE to read more.
