Kai Po Che!

Singh Best friends Ishaan, Omi and Govind - young, ambitious and restless - are trying to make a mark in the India of the early 2000s.

These are exciting times - a new millennium has just dawned, India's a nuclear power and ostensibly shining - a perfect place for the 3 Ahmedabad boys to start a business that could be their ticket to fame and riches. In a country where cricket is religion, they hit upon a brilliant plan - to start a training academy that could produce India's next sporting superstars!

What follows is without doubt the greatest adventure of their lives, as they attempt to navigate the big hurdles in the path of fulfilling their dreams. Based on Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel "The 3 Mistakes of My Life", Kai Po Che (meaning a triumphant yell in Gujarati uttered when flying kites) is an unforgettable ode to friendship and the magical moments one shares with one's closest pals - celebrating festivals, drunken dancing, watching cricket matches together, strategizing on how to catch the attention of the cute neighborhood girl, being there to watch each other's back in troubled times and to celebrate one's successes by screaming "Kai Po Che" with full joy!

Starring: Sushant Singh Rajput, Raj Kumar Yadav, Amit Sadh, Amrita Puril
Director: Abhishek Kapoor

This is a great opportunity to raise consciousness about mental health, to become aware and informed and serve the needs of others.

I believe in donating funds to organizations doing good work. Flowing money to places of need serves the good of all.  It is also an opportunity to give without expectation and to trust that money will always come. The same is true for open hearted offering of time and knowledge.

I look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

I love kale. I really do. Not only is it a mega superstar superfood, it tastes great too (if done right!) Its packed full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and is a definite nutritional bang for your buck!

And kelp... can't say enough about it. Its a sea vegetable thats loaded with iodine, calcium and iron. Though I often take and recommend it in supplement form, there is yet another way to enjoy kelp!

Here are two products that I've recently discovered that you can add to your supergreens repertoire in the kitchen. If you are short on time or just want another way to get some kale or kelp into your life, try these out ...

"It is quite a responsibility to always be stylish", actress Kareena Kapoor said at the launch of her book -- "The Style Diary of a Bollywood Diva". She also said the book had something for everyone. "There is something for people from 14 to 35 years. My husband is 40 plus so there has to be something for the 40 plus," Kareena, who co-wrote the book with Rochelle Pinto, said.

The book has Kareena's take on styling and has been published by Shobhaa De Books and Penguin India.

"When (writer Shobhaa) De called me for this book, I thought I might write a book when I'm 60. What if something more interesting happens 20 years later? But she said it was going to be a style diary."

Two months after his death, Indian sitar legend Ravi Shankar has won the best world music album Grammy for "The Living Room Sessions Part 1" spanning a wide range of Indian classical styles. He was also honoured with a posthumous Lifetime Achievement award.

The maestro's daughter Anoushka, who too was nominated in the same category for her album "Traveller" accepted the Grammy on behalf of her late father at the Grammy awards show here Sunday.

"It's OK to lose to your father," said the 31-year-old, who is also a sitar player and composer, as she received the award for her father.

Ravi Shankar died in December at the age of 92, after heart surgery at a hospital in La Jolla, California, near San Diego.

Earlier Saturday, Anoushka Shankar and the musician's other daughter, singer Norah Jones accepted the posthumous Grammy Award at a special ceremony in Los Angeles ahead of Sunday's Grammys show.

Kitchen Confidential Blog
Erstwhile royal families have closely guarded culinary secrets of their kitchens like treasures down the ages. But the struggle to keep the estates sustainable is forcing the descendents to open up.

Nearly six decades after independence, the hosts of the royal palace resorts are opening their recipe books to contribute to the experimental culinary wave sweeping through the kitchens of urban India.

"Cooking a family recipe is like singing a 'ghazal'. It sounds different each time, but you know the flavour. One of our favourites was 'Shahi Sabzi Pulao'," Randhir Singh, scion of the family of the erstwhile Maharaja of Patiala, told IANS.

It was a dry pulao that could be improvised with meat arranged in layers, he said.

The pulao, originally cooked by royal chefs, has now been tweaked to suit the low-oil palate.

The pulao can be paired with "Murgh Musallam Laung Elaichi", a sweet and sour dry chicken dish with hints of clove, cardamom, lime juice and honey.
