Facebook and Pinterest Are the New Wedding Planner |
After getting a new job or promotion, you probably post an update to Facebook, Twitter and other social profiles to let everyone in on the good news. But when something more personal happens - like getting engaged - do you immediately post the information for your connections to see right away? Or do you wait to tell your close friends and family first?
It turns out about one in ten (8%) brides are updating their Facebook relationship statuses within minutes of saying "Yes," while nearly one in three (31%) did so within hours of getting engaged. Mashable's Social and Tech wedding survey, done in conjunction with TheKnot.com, shows that today's bride is both connected and social. In other words, she has hashtags and QR codes, and she knows how to use them. Click HERE to read more. |
Wedding wardrobe goes bold |
Wedding season is round the corner and it's time to look your best. With big fat Indian weddings becoming the flavour of the day, much has changed so far as wedding trousseau is concerned. On D-day, every bride or bridegroom wants to be the headturner. Young Amdavadis are no more taking the traditional route.
Young brides are experimenting and trying newer cuts, fabrics and styles. "Girls, who have it in them, make sure to look sexy during their wedding. Lots of western flavour is incorporated in outfits that brides decide to wear for their functions or on the reception. Layering, minimal embroidery and ornamentation are in this season. Western cuts with traditional touch is what most brides are preferring; variations in skirts, gowns, anarkali dresses with attractive borders and lots of flare will be seen. Comfortable and well structured blouses rule that are noodle strap, halters and backless," says designer Ashish Parikh.Click HERE to read more. |
