| What's New on BindiBlogs |
April 15, 2008, I was sitting with my Spiritual Teacher, Yogi Akal, for early morning mediation. On that day we watched a video of his Teacher, Yogi Bhajan speaking on the topic of Love.
Yogi Bhajan has an amazing way of delivering the teachings - straightforward, profound and a little caustic at the same time.
Yogi Bhajan asked the gathered students, "What is Love?" The answers were all of our basic responses to Love - an emotion, a relationship or an action. For each answer he flat out disagreed, dismissed or laughed.
Hello readers! I wanted to share a few products that I think are fabulous! They are innovative, nutritious and will help you live a healthy lifestyle!
Here are a few of my faves:
Macrobar They come in a variety of flavours! Almond butter and carob - keeps you full and satisfied! These bars are organic, dairy and gluten-free!
The shortlist for the 2013 DSC Prize for South Asian Literature, announced in London on Tuesday night, includes this year's Booker Prize-nominated Narcopolis by Jeet Thayil, as well as Jamil Ahmad's The Wandering Falcon, winner of the 2011 Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize.
Coined as the Prince of Goa, Drega is a Hip-Hop artist who has no problem stirring up some controversy and raising the bar. His new single "Smoking and Drinking" does just that. All of Drega's fans and the curious music lovers can expect the music video to hit the web November 28 on http://www.DesiHipHop.com, but for now Drega gets us familiar with his sophomore single. Bollywood actors Tabu and Irrfan Khan promoted their forthcoming film 'Life of Pi' in Panaji, Goa on the sidelines of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
Irrfan Khan said: "It is a long journey and I cannot sum it up in few words. It could be a story of anything, for me it was a story of tiger, tiger who symbolizes our inner sense, which symbolizes, how I existed on planet It could be a story of a boy, of a human being, his spirits and his struggles, the victory of his spirit ..."
When Arvinda Chauhan started her Indian cooking classes 20 years ago, she never envisaged a time would come when South Asian women would be students at her cooking classes. Her daughter Preena Chauhan says, "We've noticed this trend over the last couple of years. These South Asian women seeking help in the kitchen department are often highly qualified and holding great jobs. The demand has grown so much that we've now ... |
Destination Guide: Ek Tha Istanbul |
|
Dreaming of which far flung destination to travel to next? Look no further than your cinema screens for inspiration! From Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger to Daniel Craig's Skyfall, action flick fans get a double dose of Istanbul this fall. From gritty street chases to panning landscape shots, the cinematography (along with the films' hunky stars of course) make Istanbul a drool worthy destination for travel junkies like me. A city straddling both Europe and Asia, Istanbul offers a truly authentic and intriguing blend of East meets West for the 9.5 million international tourists expected to visit by the end of 2012. Lucky me, I happened to be one of those tourists this past September.
Here are my top tips on where to stay, what to see and how to explore Istanbul as an independent traveler, the Desi Globetrotter
way ...
