  • August 15: Planning and Managing a Sustainable Lawn with Sean O'Neill, Tamson Yeh, and Paul Wagner. 10:00 am.
  • September 12: Designing with Native Grasses with Edwina von Gal, Gary Gentile and Laura Schwanof. 10:00 am.
  • October 17: Bayscaping for the Health of Our Waterways with Sherryll Jones of Peconic Estuary Program.  10:00 am.
  • November 14: Hampton Chocolate Factory and Truffle Workshop with Caroline Gappelberg and Rick Bogusch. 3:00  pm.
  • December 6: Annual Holiday Wreath Workshop with Diana Conklin of Everlastings by Diana. 2:00 pm.

Interested in heading over to the North Fork? We have additional sustainable garden programs happening at the Agricultural Center at Charnews Farm in Southold in August & September:  
  • August 20: Achieving a Toxin-Free Lawn and Landscape. This 3-hour seminar with Cornell Cooperative Extension, Treewise Organic, and Perfect Earth Project is co-sponsored by the Long Island Sound Study and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and offers the opportunity for DEC credits. 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. $10/person.
  • September 12: Herbs with Heather: Preparing for Autumn. 10:00 am.

Art in the Gardens . . . 
Watercolor Classes Continue at Bridge Gardens!

  

Lois Bender continues her series of watercolor classes
-- for all skill levels --

Classes start at 10:30 am

Pop-Up Art Show and Sale
Lois and her students will have a special exhibition -- including sale of their work! Join us to see all the wonderful art created over the season. Refreshments will be provided. 
Saturday, August 29 from 1-5 pm 
Sunday, August 30 from 11 to 4 pm

Join Lois' weekly watercolor class at the garden, and learn to paint floral bouquets and landscapes in a "nature sketchbook" style or bring your own project idea for development. All levels are welcome.

Homeowner Rewards Program
  
Peconic Estuary Program offers a Rewards Program for homeowners who add rain gardens, native plantings and/or rain barrels to their properties. The program is available to homeowners in the towns of Southold, Riverhead, Southampton, East Hampton and Brookhaven.
