Chapter News
Welcome to an exciting month Chapter Members. As our earlier meeting announcement has informed everyone our next meeting will be a highlight of one of Central Florida's most unique and historic businesses at E-One located at the SVO Plant, 2929 SW 57th Avenue Ocala, FL 34474. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 19th and will include a tour of the facility presented by Leroy Stephens and his team. E-ONE is Central Florida's Leading manufacturer of First Responder and Fire Rescue vehicles. The tour will highlight the production process which will include several fluid power applications in both the production and implementation of the vehicles. Anyone interested in attending can RSVP to Leroy Stephens at lstephens@e-one.com. Thank you to Leroy for volunteering his time and facility for our meeting and providing our members with another opportunity to see Fluid Power applications being used first hand. More information can be accessed through www.e-one.com. The tour will be followed by our normal meeting. There are some agenda items to be discussed that will help organize the meeting structure along with the possibility of implementing Roberts Rules of Order. Other agenda items will also include a new Budgetary committee to develop strategies on increasing the budget and expenditure of monies for chapter development.
Our November meeting will be held at the 4H building in Orlando, Florida on Thursday, November 21st at 6:00 p.m. This meeting is our annual presentation of FIRST robotics Teams that we as a chapter support in their hopes to compete and develop robotics applications using a wide range of electronic and pneumatic designs to achieve a pre-set goal in a competitive scenario. A more detailed list of First applications and successes of our central Florida teams can be reviewed at FIRST. Teams that we sponsor will be presenting their solutions and plans for this year's competitions as well as their past successes in previous competitions. This is always a highlight for us to see and also for the students who participate in the competition. Our endorsement goes a long way for these teams and it is great to encourage growth and interest in applications that involve Fluid Power. Please plan on attending both meetings in September and November. More information will be on the way for the future meeting but we hope to see anyone available to attend next week's highlighted tour at E-One. Thank you to all our chapter members for your continued support, it is because of you that we are able to offer great opportunities to visit our local manufacturers and provide support for local community organizations.
