Compass Center Updates
Executive Director Search

John Miskey
I am pleased to announce the launch of our search for the next Executive Director of Compass Center for Women and Families. The position posting describes the experience and qualities we are looking for to lead this dynamic agency. The search committee is made up of Board members and community stakeholders. We hope to have our new Executive Director in place by mid-to-late summer. I am looking forward to leading a comprehensive and thorough search to identify a well-qualified and compassionate individual to lead and grow Compass Center to its full potential.

2015 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

Nancy Sowa
Each year Compass Center works with RSVP to provide the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Qualified tax preparers work with low- to moderate-income community members to provide free tax preparation, as well as educate them on tax credits that may be available to them.

In 2014, we filed 235 tax returns and returned $265,000 back into the community.

Call Compass Center today and learn more about how you can take advantage of this great service before Aprili 15th. For the first year, we are hosting VITA at the Chapel Hill Public Library. We are the only site that offers appointments for foreign students.

To learn more, email us at or call us at 919-968-4610.
