Introducing new additions to the SRI staff!
We are excited and pleased to announce two dynamic additions to the SRI staff!

Johanna Morriss is our new Marketing Director. She earned a BFA in Theatre Production Arts from Ithaca College with an emphasis in Scenic Design and furthered her education in business at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Before joining the SRI team, she has worked as a set designer and scenic artist.

"I was attracted to Sapsis Rigging's dedication to education and quality of service they provide. For over 35 years, they have been known leaders in their field and they continue to grow and improve every aspect of their business. It will be my pleasure to assist in driving new business to SRI and to bring awareness to the efforts they make on behalf of the entertainment industry.  I'm happy for the opportunity to be a part of this remarkable team."

Scott Price is our new Sales Manager. Originally from Southern Maine, Scott earned a BFA from the University of Connecticut and an MFA in Technical Production from San Diego State University. He has worked for a diverse range of organizations ranging from the summer stock theaters of New England to international Opera companies, contemporary arts centers, and academic institutions across the country.

"I'm excited and honored to be a part of SRI family and their long history of excellence and leadership in the Entertainment Rigging Industry. Their dedication to making the industry safer is what attracted me to this position. The ProPlus™ line of products is award winning, and an industry must have. I look forward to being a part of the future of Sapsis Rigging.
NATEAC News
The director and staff of the North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (NATEAC) are proud to announce that the conference dinner has been designated a charity event to benefit Behind the Scenes, a program of the Behind the Scenes Foundation. The Behind the Scenes Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2005 to create and support charitable programs for the entertainment technology industry. Behind the Scenes provides financial assistance to industry professionals who are seriously ill or injured.  Bill Sapsis, NATEAC director commented, "The work Behind the Scenes does for our industry is enormous and supporting them with this dinner was a very easy decision. Generous donations from PRG and Altman Lighting helped make this event possible."

NATEAC has added two additional events to its roster of networking opportunities at the conference in July.

The first is a book signing which is planned for Sunday, July 17 in the ballroom of the Roosevelt Hotel. A number of presenters and sponsors have recently published books and NATEAC wants to provide them with an opportunity to offer these books to the conference attendees. The second is a closing night cocktail party, planned for Monday, July 18 at Eamonn's Bar & Grill on east 45th street, just a block away from the conference hotel. The cocktail party features a full open bar and appetizers. "The exchange of ideas doesn't begin and end with the sessions", noted Bill Sapsis, conference director. "NATEAC has always endeavored to give the attendees an opportunity to discuss the topics of the day in a less formal setting and an Irish pub should prove an ideal location."

These two events join the other three already scheduled get togethers; the Harbor Cruise on Saturday evening, the Conference Dinner at Sardi's on Sunday evening and the Backstage Tours on Tuesday morning.

The 2016 North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference takes place in New York City on July 17-18 and will bring together over 300 leaders in the Architectural, Engineering, Manufacturing and Consulting fields to discuss the issues faced in designing and building performance venues in North America in the 21st century.
