I started this session many years ago as an alternative to those sessions where the panelists talk about something that has nothing to do with the session title or what you came to hear. At Stump the Rigger the panel tries to answer your questions about entertainment rigging issues and problems. The person with the best question gets to take home the much coveted Jack Suesse Memorial Stump the Rigger trophy.
The trophy is named after an industry icon who passed away in 2008. Jack was a much loved friend and mentor to many people in the industry and he sat on the Stump panel for a number of years. This year's panelists will be Herb Hart of Columbus McKinnon (CM), Tray Allen, formerly president of James Thomas Engineering and yours truly. Please join us at the USITT conference on Saturday morning, March 21st at 11:00 am. Bring your questions. Who knows? You just might win a trophy. (No worries about excess baggage. We'll ship it to you)
Thanks,
Bill __________________________________________________________________

The 12th annual Long Reach Long Rider charity motorcycle ride begins on Sunday, May 31 in Nashville, Tennessee. As a founding member I'm asking for your support of this very worthwhile fundraising event. If you're not familiar with the ride, here are some of the highlights.
The ride benefits two charities; the PLASA Foundation's Behind the Scenes Program and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Since 2004 the riders have raised over $450,000.00. The riders pay all of their expenses including travel, lodging, meals and fuel. All of your donation goes directly to the charity.
Each year the Long Reach Long Riders attract an eclectic group of riders, most of whom hail from the entertainment industry. There are university professors, riggers, business owners, venue managers, students and stagehands, as well as technical directors and others from various segments of the industry. Many have made this their annual vacation. But no matter their background, all of the riders have a common goal; to support the work of these two very worthwhile charities. Please help us support them by making a donation.
For information on making a donation please visit the Long Reach Long Riders website.
