Sapsis Rigging manages complex schedule for New York's Fashion Week
 | 2 ton "sun" installed for Marc Jacobs show

Few times of the year feature as much gonzo production work as Fashion Week in New York City. The event takes over venues across the city and we're the technical management company of choice for many of the designers including Mark Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, and Kenneth Cole.
Production manager Michael Sapsis and his crews worked steadily for two weeks, installing over 225 chain hoists, about 3,500 feet of truss and a 4,000-pound sodium-vapor lighting effect referred to as 'The Sun' by the designers and called something else entirely by the crew.
We covered events in the 69th Regiment Armory on 26th Street, the Cunard Building at 25 Broadway in the financial district, the Park Avenue Armory, Chelsea Muse, 537 W. 27th Street and The Tents at Lincoln Center.
"Fashion Week this season looked like the shows we did back in the 90's, with a lot of overnight changeovers and some pretty wild schedules," said Michael Sapsis. "Crew chiefs Daryl John, Chris Harris, Daniel Porter and Paul Sapsis did an exceptional job holding it all together."
This is the 20th year that we have provided rigging solutions and technical support for Fashion Week. SRI, led by Michael Sapsis started the concept of Fashion in rep back in 1993 at the Celeste Bartos Forum on the ground floor of the New York Public Library.
