Greetings!

Autodesk has announced some new and has rehashed some older information on updating their software.

Please read below for more information on this news.

The Good
Autodesk has altered and extended their upgrade deals until October 6th:

Upgrade your AutoCAD 2009 through 2014, and save 10% off the upgrade. Our price is $2600. No subscription is necessary for this deal.

Even better, turn in a really old version of AutoCAD (2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2002, 2000i, 2000, R14),
add a one-year subscription, and save 30% off the price of a new seat. The price, including the subscription, is $3475.

The Bad

Right now, Autodesk® Maintenance Subscription customers receive their software via download and if needed, can request a physical shipment of media at no charge.

Starting September 29, 2014, customers in U.S. and Canada will be required to pay $30 (US) for a physical shipment of their software. The cost includes standard shipping.

Autodesk claims that 'Software Download has become the most effective and environmentally-friendly way to access Autodesk software.'

Many others would say it is cheaper, and that is why Autodesk is doing it. And they would probably be right.

The bottom line: Request free media now through the Autodesk Subscription Site. We have prepared a blog post on how to navigate the subscription center here:

As previously announced, Autodesk has stated that as of February 1, 2015, it will no longer be possible to purchase upgrades for any non-current product versions. You must either be on subscription or buy a new seat if you want a newer version.

This means that you should get your seats on subscription, if they are not already on it!
Sincerely,
