Meet the Members
Rep. Cheri Bustos (IL-17)

Repesentative Cheri Bustos (IL-17)

As a former journalist, Rep. Bustos knows how to listen to and understand both sides of complex issues. She has used that unique experience in Washington, DC to work with her GOP colleagues. JAC has supported Bustos since her first run for Congress in 2012. She is an effective legislator who consistently advocates for JAC's core issues.  Bustos has visited Israel, which further underscored her commitment to Israel's defense and security.

Bustos, who supports Planned Parenthood funding, can be counted on to always defend women's reproductive rights. "I believe a woman's reproductive health is critically important and support access to family planning and reproductive freedom."

JAC will throw it's support behind Bustos' reelection effort and we hope we can count on your to do the same. (For more information on Bustos, click here)

If you are in the Chicago area on Monday, Feb. 22, join us for coffee with Bustos.  Call the JAC office at 433-5999 for more information.

Tell your Senators to fulfill their constitutional responsibility:

Give the Supreme Court nominee a fair and timely hearing.

1.202.224.3121
  • It's irresponsible and unprecedented to let a vacancy on the Court extend into 2017.
  • The American people expect the Legislative branch will do its job so that the Judicial branch can do its own.

Can Jewish Communities Unite Against BDS?
The proliferation of BDS is aided by the complacency of Jews and their supporters, alongside a widespread uncertainty about whether they should have a stake in an Israel they may not always agree with. In a packed session at the annual Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations in Jerusalem on Monday, panelist Brig. Gen. (res.) Yossi Kuperwasser railed against the "sophisticated" new methods used by those bent on the demise of Zionism, saying that since the Iron Dome has neutralized their rocket fire, they've turned to the world arena to push BDS.

A Wall for Gun Violence Victims Would Stretch 2.5 miles
We, as a nation, should not need such a visceral reminder to support and enact safe and reasonable gun laws. Many bills have been introduced in Congress that would make our streets and schools safer. Unfortunately, the House leadership is refusing to bring any of this commonsense legislation up for a vote.

A Kentucky state legislator has introduced a bill that would require men who want to use erectile dysfunction drugs like Cialis, Viagra or Levitra to get a note from their wife first.
