Earth Day Fast Facts--Nudist-Style
|
Nudists have always been good stewards of the environment whether on Earth Day or year-round.
1. On Earth Day, or any day, don't sit alone in front of the television or computer. The energy your home consumes with you in it through the use of electronics and lights can be substituted with spending time out on the town, congregating with friends or at an AANR-affiliated club. It's worth noting that most public areas use fluorescent or LED bulbs, which are more efficient than those found in the average home. If you're not going to go out (or maybe after you do) there is really no better day for using vast amounts of candles.
2. Think about housekeeping or exercising in the nude. By doing so you sweat less, don't dirty clothes, and can also keep the air-conditioning bill down and shrink your clothes washing loads too. In the sunbelt, by turning up your central air conditioning thermostat one degree, fuel consumption can be cut by as much as 10%.

Fun To Be Done
By Theresa "T" Price, AANR Trustee
"Oh, the places you'll go! There is FUN to be done!"
Sound vaguely familiar? I never imagined that Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Suess, could see my future when he wrote those tall tales, but that is precisely what happened. I've had the privilege of growing up in the world of nudism and there was indeed a whole lot of fun to be done. I spent almost every weekend at Shangri La, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, skateboarding or roller skating on the volleyball court and yes, playing volleyball.
I was a teenager when we formed the Arizona Wildflowers, which was categorized as a "travel club" at the time ... and boy did we go places! We traveled to landed clubs all over the Southwest, and we planned crazy camping adventures on public lands . . . anywhere being nude was legal, all in pursuit of the magical thing called FUN. I even got to celebrate my "sweet 16" at Glen Eden, where fellow nudists made sure I was surrounded by "family" for my special day...

Latest Trend: Nude Art Museum Tours
|
"Naked, our whole body experiences color," artist Stuart Ringholt told The Huffington Post."We no longer just look at it, but now have the capacity to feel it also. We can let it wash over us, feel its vibration."
This is just one artist's feeling about the newest trend in the art world: nude museum tours. From Australia to California and locations in between, the practice involves groups of nude patrons gazing upon a museum's offerings sans clothing. The tours usually take place after hours, when spectators can have the museum to themselves to view the artwork.
