Celebrate! It's Nude Recreation Week!

Skinny-Dip

This week, we encourage free spirits young and old to join in the celebration of national Nude Recreation Week, July 7-13, started by The Naturist Society (TNS) over three decades ago, and experience the stress-relieving freedom of nude recreation.

Many AANR-affiliated clubs host open houses this weekend and this year will be honoring our Veterans and active and inactive duty military personnel to thank them for their service.

All Veterans and military personnel who visit a participating club this week will receive a Freedom Pass which allows you to enjoy the basic benefits of AANR membership plus whatever additional benefits the club is offering.

Click here for a list of participating locations.

Meet The New AANR Board

The votes have been tallied, and AANR members have spoken. Meet your new AANR Board who will move AANR forward for the next two years.

Beverly Price was elected your new AANR President. She will take over the gavel--and the job--from current AANR President Susan Weaver at the AANR Convention in August.

Rock Lodge Video Honors Veterans
Rock Lodge Club, an AANR-affiliated club in New Jersey, was inspired to create a video based on AANR's "Thanks for the Freedom" initiative in recognition of our Veterans and military.

Watch as Rock Lodge takes a moment to honor our veterans.

Club Orient Tops In Poll

USA Today, readers around the world discovered that not all nudist resorts are created equal. The newspaper lists St. Martin's Club Orient as top choice, thanks in part to its envious location on Orient Bay, considered one the world's finest beaches and often termed as the "St. Tropez of the Caribbean."

Also featured in The Daily Herald, both publications give added praise to the resort for its family-friendly atmosphere. It is quite common to see families enjoying the beach or partaking in the various family-friendly activities that Club Orient has on offer.

In recognition of its reputation as a family vacation destination, Club Orient hosts an annual Family Month promotion, this year from July 15-August 15. Any family with children under the age of 18 can book accommodations at a studio rate and be upgraded to a chalet, at no additional charge.

Nudism In The News

Two articles about nudism hit the media recently in two high profile venues.

While both articles focused on mainstream nude recreation trends, the topics were very different

The Washington Post article focused on the popularity in "naked" reality shows. "Buying Naked" on TLC, "Naked and Afraid" on the Discovery channel, and "Naked Dating" debuting on VH1.

AANR President Susan Weaver and AANR Executive Director Bill Schroer were interviewed for the Washington Post from Avalon Resort while attending the AANR-East Convention.

The Post article inspired AANR Executive Director Bill Shroer to write an op-ed piece on the topic for the Battle Creek Enquirer

The Economist article was devoted to clothing-optional holidays. As expected, the story covered the economic impact of nude recreation, citing the statistic of a $440 million per year industry--and growing. Some of the nudist industry's travel leaders were interviewed for the article.
