Today, June 19, is the deadline for public comment about the management plan for the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway, which includes provisions threatening nudists' limited use of Mazo Beach.

 

Please find the time to add your comments and forward to your constituent members and ask them for their support.  Mazo Beach is the only nude beach of size in the Midwest and it would be a huge loss if it were to be closed.

New AANR Executive Director Bill Shroer, in addition to his AANR management duties, also writes op-ed columns for the Battle Creek Enquirer, his former home town before relocating to Florida for his new position at AANR headquarters.

A strong proponent of nudism and natuism, Bill has been writing the columns for some time.

Sunny Rest Resort in the Poconos in Pennsylvania, host club of the 2014 AANR Convention, will also host the Bare Beach Beer Bash on June 28.  

 

Now in its third year, the festival is the brainchild of Halsie Shoemaker, general manager of Sunny Rest. Last year, the fest attracted 300. This year, word of the event went viral, and every room is already booked and they expect 500 attendees.

 

Rob DeMaria, of Prism Brewing, told Philly.com: "I found the people to be some of the nicest beer-fest attendees, and sharing the beer with them was a fun time," DeMaria said. "When everyone is naked, there is no cultural bias on who or what they are; everyone accepts everyone else for just being human."
