We are a strong & vibrant community, & while you may not know us yet, we are committed to your survival, to your well-being, & we stand with open arms whenever you need us. I want you to know you are not alone walking this path. We are tens of thousands strong. It will be hard. You will be frightened, overwhelmed, confused.

Like Alice (in Cancerland?) tumbling down that rabbit hole wondering how in the world you are ever going to get out. When you are diagnosed everything changes, outlook, relationships etc..., most times forever. Life will never be the same, but it can be better.

And while life moves in a direction you never could have predicted- remember, you are still not alone. I want you to know that there is nothing you can say to scare us, or send us away. We don't know where each individual journey will lead...but we are at your side, wherever it takes us.
I want you to know that cancer will not win. It will make you stronger, even if it weakens you. It will teach you to love in ways you never knew you could. It will give you insights, power, & courage. And even if it manages to overtake your body, it will never overtake your spirit. It is just a word.

Dancing with Cancer
For 20 + years, every October we witness the marketing of the color pink & breast cancer. The problem is what the two have come to represent: a skewed representation of a deadly disease & an overused symbol that has morphed into a marketing tool used more for profit than anything else. Most corps only contribute a very small percentage of the money they make selling PINK to everyone.

We do not need more awareness, we are aware-40,000 women die every year.

 

Simply put, if all the money spent purchasing pink toasters & pink ribbon can openers had been funneled toward research for an actual cure, there would be no more "For The Cure." You know why? Because we would have The Cure.
