Wedding Palace in Fairfax Oct 18 - 24

Shot on location in Los Angeles' Koreatown and Seoul, Korea, Wedding Palace tells the story of a Korean-American bachelor who embarks on a high-tech, cross-cultural quest to find "the one." Along the way, his well-meaning but wacky family screws things up at every turn. Back by popular demand, The Barker Foundation is pleased to re-introduce this workshop which focuses on key topics of interest to domestic and international adoptive parents of teenagers and young adults. Three presenters with varied experiences will share their perspectives on subjects including:

  • Talking about adoption and birth parents
  • School issues
  • Post-high school choices
  • Boundaries
  • Fostering independence and a sense of identity
  • Letting go of the "small stuff" 

Who: Parents of adopted teenagers and young adults (ages 13-23)

Musical Dreams Benefit Concert Oct 27 in Rockville

The New Life Foundation's mission is to help children who are musically talented, but do not have the financial resources to further their music skills. The Musical Dreams Concert will raise funds to bring underprivileged Korean musicians to New Life Foundation's Music Camp in 2013. All are welcome to a wonderful concert that will help Korean children living in group homes and orphanages!
