Water Resources Development Act Passes Senate and House!

Some good news coming to our industry from Washington D.C. For the past couple of years, NUCA has been fighting for the passage of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) and our efforts have paid off --- BIG TIME!

The WRDA conference bill reportedly contains the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) which will create a 5-year pilot program to provide loans and loan guarantees for flood control, water supply, and wastewater infrastructure projects. This will infuse billions

The WRDA Conference bill also contains State Revolving Fund (SRF) Reauthorization. Allowing more flexible loan terms and expanded water project eligibility, SRF Funds are a primary, and now strengthened, tool for municipalities interested in expanding, replacing, and repairing their water infrastructure.

All three of NM's Representatives voted for passage of WRDA - Thank you, Congressman Pearce, Congressman Lujan and Congresswoman Lujan Grisham.

Volunteer Day

Not only did we have a great time up at Gorham Camp in April, but we got some work done. Each year volunteers from NUCA of NM spend a day at the Gorham Scout Camp building and improving the property for the benefit and enjoyment of our Boy Scouts of America. This has become a four year tradition and it's a great way to give back to our community and help out our future leaders too!

Thanks to all of the volunteers who worked so hard this year. We built a new horse coral so that the camp can buy more horses for the scouts to take care of and enjoy, and we also built a tack room for all of the gear. Click the link below to see pictures from the day. It will take you to Facebook, but you don't have to be a member or log-in to view pictures.

Thank you:

Steve Clark, Adam Clark, Kathy Probst, Dub Girand, Stephan Girand, Simon Garcia, Joseph Groves and REX, Vicky Gower, Ryan Hill, Andrew Sweeney, Ben Hutchins, & Danny Jernigan.
