Greetings Members!!
Hello Members! Last week I attended a presentation in Santa Fe for the Public Private Partnerships (P3). In the 2013 New Mexico Legislative Session, we were able to get this important legislation through the House only to run out of time when it was on the Senate side. The purpose of this recent presentation was to educate lawmakers (Transportation Infrastructure Revenue Subcommittee). By expanding the use of P3s, lawmakers will allow private funds to assist in public projects while leaving the ownership public. This is simply a very effective tool to increase funding for infrastructure projects in NM. 33 States already have P3 legislation on the books. For more information, contact Jane at 505 888 0752. - Advocacy - one of NUCA's most effective benefit as staff work the hill every week and also has a full-time lobbyist working daily on issues that effect the industry. NUCA's focus is on spillover benefits from the highway fund, rural development programs, EPA Revolving funds, Water Resources Development, and funds for infrastructure development, repair and maintenance.
