Dear Readers & Hayward Advocates,
There are only 24 hours in a day.
With that said, it's very important that we spend our time wisely with those whose company we enjoy. You'll see in this month's e-newsletter that I've been working on connecting the organizations I love with each other on collaborative efforts.
For example, my passion for animal rescue efforts is connected to the arts, my community service-oriented Rotary Club is connected with supporting local business, my high school alumni association is connected with the arts AND business in support of local students, PLUS, I'm working on continuing the tradition of organizing, supporting and/or promoting unique events that put Hayward on the map.
As always, if you have any questions about the events featured in my Hayward-Centric e-Newsletters, please contact me. Most events I promote are those I'm directly involved in planning or promoting because I'm passionate about them. Although I no longer serve in elected capacity, I'm still working toward making sure Hayward is viewed as the best of the best.

The Mt. Eden High School Alumni Association
Sponsors a Leadership Hayward Scholarship!
With the support of the Hayward Chamber of Commerce, the first ever high school student will be allowed to participate in this prestigious program!
Eligible junior or senior Mt. Eden High School students are eligible to apply.

Puzzle lovers, get ready: It's time for the 2015 Rubik's Rumble! Held at Hayward City Hall on Saturday, November 7 for a day of heated competition, as some of the world's top speed-cubers go head-to-head in an amazing display of logic, memory and manual dexterity.
Attendees will also enjoy participating in the epic Rubik's Cube artwork of internationally recognized Hayward artist Pete Fecteau and an exclusive Q&A session revealing the secrets of solving the cube blindfolded.
The competition begins at 10:00 a.m., with the action-packed finals scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers. Just steps away from the Hayward BART station, and with a wide variety of shops, restaurants and the Hayward Farmers' Market right outside, this free to spectate event is great for puzzle aficionados, math enthusiasts, families and anyone curious about the secrets of the colorful cube. Join in!
