HFC Update

Christmas is right around the corner!

The Thanksgiving turkey is just settling and already Christmas is on our minds. Christmas can be a busy time of year, making it even more important to remind ourselves to focus on the things that really matter. This year's HFC Christmas card encourages us to enjoy the festivities and wonderful things that happen during the holiday season while remembering what we are celebrating. 
 
For each gift of $16, we will send you a set of 10 cards in thanks for your gift and as a way to spread the word about HFC's ministry this Christmas season. What a better way in the middle of the materialism that can overtake our culture during this season to remind others that there are those who are living without the daily comforts of food and safety.


Merry Christmas from the Kids in Haiti

Emmanuel Deronvil, who grew up at HFC and is now in his last year of schooling before going on to his post-secondary studies, drew the art for the front of this year's Christmas card. But more importantly is that he did the art as part of a project with the younger children to create Christmas pictures for you! 

Nourish their bodies, grow their minds, feed their souls.

The Marion Austin Christian School that is a big part of Hope for the Children of Haiti's ministry to our community has grown from being established for the education of the children in our care to serving 477 children in our community. This is no small task. Each year we aim to provide a high quality of education that is grounded in Christian principles and values. And yet, there has been a missing part that has weighed on the hearts of HFC's Board. Many of the children come to us on empty stomachs and leave without any guarantee of returning home to a meal. In the past couple of years we have expanded our sponsorship program to feed some of the students but it is clear that it just isn't enough - there are so many more going hungry every day.
 
Now we have an opportunity to provide each child with a hot meal for only $.27/day! If you would like to be a part of this important program, please designate "School Feeding Program" with your year-end gift and help us make this program and reality!

Prayer Requests

We give thanks for the new kids who have come into our care and pray for their health as of many of them have health and nutritional needs. 

That we would continue to be a blessing to our community while encouraging the community to reach out to others in their community who are in greatest need. 

That God will provide the financial means so we can institute a school-wide feeding program.

That the Gospel of Christ would be proclaimed both in word and deed. 

Praise to God for providing a new generator and inverter to provide the orphanage and school with more consistent electricity.

For our staff in Haiti that they would be uplifted through the work that they do on a daily basis.

For the first generation children that they would realize the important role they play in giving back to this next generation of kids. 

For the Board and staff that we would not become weary in well doing but instead move ahead under God's strength and guidance.
